Writing challenge
Write for 10 Stories in 10 Days
Challenge yourself to ease into publishing daily

Do you want to publish a story daily? But is something holding you back to write? Or is something holding you back to take the plunge and actually publish them?
If so this is the place to overcome whatever holds you back from publishing. Just write and have fun while doing so.
Also, if you want to iterate towards that lofty 30-day or 100-day goal, this publication may just be the thing as have an audience where you can share your (sub)goals and tell us what you have learned.
I strongly believe that you get better when you practice. And everything gets better with feedback! I am sure to give you feedback and encouraging nudges.
The challenge
10 stories in 10 days
The challenge is very simple: publish 10 stories in 10 days
Rules
No one is going to check on whether you were succesful. You are challenging yourself. You decide what you accomplish. And to be very clear: you can post at whatever frequency you want. No need to go for a post a day. We all have lives to attend to.
You are free to use other publications to submit your stories to. You are, however, required to post your first and your last story here. More details about that below.
Other than that, don’t worry too much about rules. The goal is to get you comfortably into the habit of creating content on a daily basis.

What is accepted
The intended authors for this publication — it’s down to you to decide whether you fit that category — are writers that are starting out on Medium. But I’m not picky: if you’ve written a story yourself, you are more than welcome to publish it here if you take part in the challenge.
It probably goes without saying: please strive for quality. Stick to the general Medium Distribution Standards.
Your first post and your last post
To reinforce your learning, please provide us with details on your journey in the ten days.
- tell us about your goals in the first post. Why are you doing this? What are your goals? What additional rules have you set for yourself? An example can be found here.
You don’t need to go fancy on this. It could very well be “I was challenged by this dude and I want to see if I can find the time to publish a story a day in 10 days.”
Or, go ambitious: “I have been struggling to meet my own criteria of a quality post. My stories need a lot of research, involve peer review and I also need to take the pictures for the story on the day of writing. I want to push myself to do this and find out what I will learn, even though it will cost me hours of sleep”.
- tell us about your learnings in your last post. Did you succeed? What did you learn? What will you do differently? An example can be found here.
More kudos for helpful comments
Bonus karma goes to writers who will read a few stories of other people in the publication. Even more kudos to those that write helpful comments.
No one will force you to do any of these things. In my experience you will benefit both in writing as well as in motivation from interacting with others on Medium.
