My goals for the upcoming 10 days

When I am writing a story, I feel good. When I am finished, I feel even better. When I am editing a day later, however, I feel that the story doesn't have the quality I am striving for. Consequently, my stories go unpublished.
I am already having fun writing, but I can't help but wonder: wouldn't it be even more fun to publish and maybe get a reader or two?
10 stories in 10 days challenge
I have created a publication for writers who, like me, end up having a pile of drafts. Its goal: to force the writer to get out and actually go for the end result of hitting the Publish-button. Read more about the challenge:
Like any responsible editor of a publication would do, I have decided to go first.
Why I want to do this and the goals I am aiming for
In 10 consecutive days, I want to daily:
- write, edit and publish a story
- write about whatever subject I feel like writing. One exception: it should not be about writing.
I want to experience what it is like to force myself to publish, even if I feel a story is not at the level I want it to be. I think that by publishing, my writing will become better and that my future stories will benefit from this.
It's time to finish starting and start finishing.
Wait, there's more. Got time for that?
While I am getting stories published, I will be tracking time as well for the following:
- writing
- editing
- finding pictures
- editing tags, titles and subtitles
I am saving these results for the last post of my challenge, where I will look into the stats of the challenge. Have I made it? And what was the ratio of the time spend versus the reading time? I am very worried about the last one, but I won't let that hold me back.
It's time to start publishing! Wish me luck!
