Summary

Words In Motion is a Medium publication that has temporarily paused accepting new submissions and writers due to an overwhelming workload, and it provides detailed submission guidelines for future reference.

Abstract

The "Words In Motion" publication on Medium has announced a hiatus on new submissions and the addition of new writers due to a high volume of work. The guidelines articulate the need for high-quality content that adheres to strict standards, including the use of draft articles, appropriate tagging, and a focus on original and respectful perspectives. Contributors are encouraged to use tools like Grammarly for editing and to ensure their articles are well-formatted, with suitable images and captions. The publication emphasizes the importance of grammar, spelling, and the avoidance of abusive or plagiarized content. It also invites interested writers to join the community for support and growth opportunities.

Please read them carefully.

I’m sorry to say due to an overwhelming workload, I had to reassess.

Unfortunately, I’m not able to continue this publication for now.

I’m not accepting any new posts and won’t be adding any new writers for the next while.

At Words In Motion, we welcome your diverse views and writing styles.

We do hold our content to a high standard for your success and the enjoyment of our readers. Following these guidelines will ensure your article is ready to publish.

If you submit writing that doesn’t meet these guidelines, editors will send you a private note. They may remove your article from the publication while you make the changes. You may resubmit your story for consideration when you feel it is ready to publish.

Drafts

Words In Motion accepts draft articles. Writers should submit up to three articles per day.

In our experience, draft submissions gain better visibility and consequently more reading times.

We strongly recommend that you use Grammarly or a similar tool to edit and revise your article prior to submitting your draft.

Tags

Use appropriate tags to help readers find your story.

We suggest you use at least one of the following tags as the publication uses tags to promote articles on our page.

Poetry, Relationships, Spirituality, Science, Technology, Words, Writing, Gaia, Fiction, Sustainability, Self Improvement, Life.

These tags are not meant to limit your topics. They are provided as guidance.

Topics

We feature quality writing exploring a wide variety of topics that highlight different perspectives with honesty and respect.

We aren’t interested in Listicles, or articles that reveal how to make money on Medium. There are lots of other publications where these stories are welcome.

We are interested in articles that make a positive contribution to the problems we face in society.

We reserve the right to refuse to publish articles that simply repeat news but do not contribute to the conversation.

See this introduction for more information regarding the stories we seek.

Titles

All stories/articles must have a title and subtitle correctly formatted. A kicker is nice, but not mandatory.

Text Formatting

We love to see readable pieces. If your formatting is all over the place this won’t help us appreciate your writing.

Keep paragraphs short as most readers use a small device and large blocks of text discourage them.

Images

All stories must contain a suitable image.

Every image must have a caption with a link or copyright information attached. A caption may be added by clicking on the image.

Many images found through Google search and on Pinterest are free to view but are not free to use.

We suggest you use free image sources such as Unsplash, Pixabay, or Pexels. You may use personal images but credit them as “Author photo” or similar language that indicates your ownership.

If you do not credit every image with appropriate copyright information, editors will send a private note reminding you to follow the guidelines. You will need to resubmit the article after completing the changes.

Grammar and Spelling

This is really important to us and our readers, so please make sure you proofread your work before submitting it. Use Grammarly or a similar online editor.

If your story contains too many grammatical errors, editors will send a private note reminding you to follow the guidelines. You will need to resubmit the article after completing the changes.

Abusive Content

We reserve the right to refuse any piece which is sexist, racist, targets individuals, targets organizations or businesses, refers to pedophilia, sexual abuse, or pieces that are deemed by our editors to be offensive. Continued submission of abusive articles will result in removing the writer from the publication.

Plagiarism

We do not accept stories written by other authors. Plagiarism will result in the removal of the writer and all of their published stories from the Publication.

While all writer’s submissions may be considered, Words In Motion’s focus is on those writers who love to read as well.

Writers who do not pay Medium monthly or annual dues that allows them to read other writers will be examined on a case by case basis.
