Woohoo, I Think I Finally Found My Niche!
A journey through unexpected twists and personal revelations.
Do you know that you are trapped? That the shepherds of society herd us—feed us daily routines and news. Monotony is our pasture. Only a few of us make it out the gates. Only to be praised and glorified as prizes.
“Look, they made it! — they are lucky.”
We sleep, we work, we die. These are the only things most of us are guaranteed.
Nope.
I say to hell with THAT!
Who I was five years ago would be in awe of the man I am today. I am doing ‘it.’ I am living. Life is more than survival. And through living, it becomes a journey of growth and evolution.

I should be in control and no one else. I can adventure, learn, and grow as much as I want — and that's scary.
Truth is, school masterfully taught me the art of 9 to 5. Going to college or joining the military were my default options. But aiming for survival just leads to more survival.
What if I aimed for my dream instead? Would I be happier along the journey?
Impossible, dumb, crazy. All words we use to describe dreams. Wanting too much is selfish, we’re told.
Because relying on survival leads to dependency and distorted views of freedom. Freedom isn’t lounging on a beach 8 hours a day.

True freedom is doing what you want to do. I wanted to amplify my purpose. So here I am writing this article — this is freedom.
My purpose is to empower others to find their purpose. My niche will do just that.
Now
I don’t like that success is a secret. I don’t believe it is done on purpose. The secrets of success are just hidden in plain sight — hidden behind the misguided perceptions of consensus. Hidden behind a perspective on life. People would rather talk or hear about the wins — the results.
“Oh, I made seven figures look at me.” — I’m guilty too.
Even I, get goaded into talking about that version of success. The problem is that type of success didn’t make me. I was shaped by failure — a constant trial by fire. Making 1,000 unique mistakes got me here. If that is success, then it is manageable by anyone —
- It is not harder than your hardest trial.
- It is not as far away as you make it seem.
- It is not a secret you can’t understand.
I want to rewrite your definitions. Rewire your psychology. Ramp up your fulfillment. Challenge your perspective.

Through my writing, I hope to make success more manageable. This destination in my journey was not where I thought I’d go — but it’s where I need to be.
Before
I have tried to help others find themselves in the past. So, what’s new? — my lens is different. Back then, I was helping others because it was easier than helping myself. Years of working hard to make other people happy.
Making others happy is hard, impossible at times. I was a bullet sponge, stepping in front of everyone’s problems. That only made it worse — it only created a dependency. It became the expectation, the norm. I stepped in the way, even if it meant hurting myself. I was a martyr back then, but there comes a point when enough is enough.
A point where it’s time to take back control. Not long ago, I made the conscious decision to chase MY dreams.
“I am going to help others, my way.”
Medium was supposed to be just another platform. One through which I would promote my business consulting. It was a good place to establish my expertise — an experiment. And, like all experiments, I had no clue where to start.
Still, I started anyway. Writing article after article — reading, learning, adding to my kit. By my 5th article, I had turned into someone else. I wasn’t concerned about my business consulting. I just wanted to help people with my words. These stories were fulfilling, but I lost my focus.
- I posted my first article and became obsessed with posting daily.
- I made my first $1 and became obsessed with earnings.
- I got my first 50 followers and became obsessed with followers.
With each positive reward, I’d change my focus. No longer could I feel the passion in my writing.

Not soon after the passion left, my creativity dissipated — And so did my ability to write something new.
After
Refusing to be defeated, I studied the work of others. Coming across many articles on ideation, the perfect article appeared.
It was systematic and empathetic to my situation — I felt seen by the author.
I took time to put some of the methods into practice. Nothing worked. Nothing felt right. It was here that I found my issue — I was judging my ideas too harshly.
If I was going to get out of this slump, I would need another perspective. The perspective of someone who absolutely adores me. Who sees me as a good, hardworking person — despite my many mistakes.
I reached out to my fiancée. I asked her to tell me what she thinks I have learned these past few years. On and on and on… she just keeps going—many of these things I had already said.
The only difference was who was saying it. I was in awe of how she saw me, but that list wasn’t the aha I was looking for.
We’d continue to talk about my writing — I asked her what she thought about this version of me — “The Writer.”
“I never knew you could write! — I really like your articles because I feel like they speak to me. It’s just the sales and business stuff isn’t really my thing.” — she said
“Why not? I think it’s important.” — I argued out of confusion
“It’s just hard to completely understand where it applies.” — she responded
*Ding* A light went off
“Why isn’t business or sales something everyone wants to know? Don’t people want to be free?” — I uttered internally.
Woohoo, I Think I Finally Found My Niche!
— And here we are, full circle. Success and freedom are not too far gone from anyone’s life. It doesn’t have to be 40 acres and a mule. Everyone is allowed to have their own definitions. My goal is to explain entrepreneurship in a way anyone can apply.
Leveraging the power of me, I will create a future by creating futures.
