Will Your Words Matter to Someone
Can you speak with hope, positivity, faith, and understanding?
When your body shakes and your throat runs dry, did you say what you meant? Or did you choose only mute?
Do your words drip with sweat from your tight grip? Or glide by with ease, not getting caught in hesitations?
Does your witnessing faith travel with shields for another? Can your words be solid and steady, interlocking the arm beside them?
Are they thrown with voluminous force, then explode into dust unrecognizable? Do the specks fade slowly, still slipping through time without notice?
Do you muster your courage, then hold yourself back? Does it protect you or another, by your choice, not theirs?
Do you put life, breath, honor, and respect into the words you deliver? Are you quiet, still, and patient to listen for a reply or continue the conversation?
Do you crack your mind and heart wide open to catch their words and pull them closer? Do you genuinely receive or ask for refunds or exchanges?
Will your words walk truth into action instead of lying dormant with nowhere to grow? Will you connect and not sever the ties you bind and live with a purpose for people to matter?
Thank you for taking the time to read my poem.
