Will I Ever Be As Confident As Rihanna?
My big fat ass got exposed.

Here’s something you should know about me, “I’m all bark, no bite.”
Allow that to sink in before you continue reading.
I suddenly had this revelation while I was drafting this post. Like you, I was shocked too.
I act like a confident person. In fact, too confident if you ask me. But you are not asking. You are reading. So I’m telling you.
I suddenly realized that my confident mojo is fake.
How do I know this?
You see, as much as I hate to admit it, the truth is as white as crystal. I’m not confident.
If memory serves me correctly, confident people are not afraid to do things that make them uncomfortable.
That’s not me. I’m conscious about what I do. I can’t wear things that get me agitated. And I certainly avoid people and places that put my life at risk.
But let’s forget what my daunting brain says for a second and let’s see the expert’s definition of what confidence is.
According to Forbes:
“Confidence takes many forms, from the arrogance of Floyd Mayweather to the quiet self-assurance of Jane Goodall. True confidence — as opposed to the false confidence people project to mask their insecurities — has a look all its own.”
You see, you have to be arrogant to be confident. I’m not intentionally arrogant (chew on that if you know what I mean). And I’m not quiet either. I might look quiet on the exterior until you challenge my intelligence.
But quiet? No!
I’m as cowardly as a tortoise. When I’m supposed to be brave, you will see me cowering under someone else’s skirt.
I couldn’t even defend myself when a toddler asked why I have sex every day. Or when my supervisor told me to take down two buttons on my shirt to expose my cleavage to the customers when I was working as a waitress.
I should have defended myself on these occasions if I were as confident as Rihanna, but I didn’t. I stupidly did what I was told like an obedient cat.
Now hear what Henry Ford said about confident people:
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right.”
This is Rihanna’s forte. She has a way of turning wrong into right. And she’s relentless when she sets her mind on something. She radiates confidence everywhere, on-screen and off-screen, in fashion, in beauty, in business, in her love life, and now as a mother.
When I look at Rihanna, I’m more convinced that confidence isn’t my persona. If I’m to define myself, I’m the scaredy-cat in a lion’s skin, and here is why.
Rihanna takes out her craziness on her cloths
Speaking of class and madness, Riri got you on the hook. From sassy outfits to quirky street ensembles, Rihanna can pull off just about anything. Whether it’s wearing an 80s Cleopatra dress or a boyish baggy, Rihanna speaks to us through her everyday outfit.
Check out what she wore to Gucci’s Soho store launch in New York in 2018. Riri looks like a complete thug in camo pants and an oversized jacket with a baseball hat. And the black lacy tulle dress she wore to the Dior Womenswear show during Paris Fashion Week in 2022. The see-through dress totally exposed her pregnancy and nudity like the slutty Bimbo.
Yet as tacky as these styles are she still maintained her elegancy. No doubt her motto of doing “what makes you happy” cannot be questioned since the iconic singer continues to show us that her words are her power.
Although, Rihanna admitted that she covers her insecurities with her fashion. And we can see a lot of that in her inspirational styles. However, she has grown very confident in herself from faking a persona.
She’s the Queen of bold statements
If there is one woman I adore besides Elizabeth Taylor is the Queen of all Bitches, Bad Girl Riri. Ever since I watched her song “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want,” I’ve been fascinated by her passion, the struggles she’s been through, and her determination to succeed.
She’s a woman of her word. When asked how she stays self-assured even on her worst days, Rihanna says she pretends to be fine and goes about her business for the day instead of lying in bed and crying her eyes out. She proved this many times when she showed up at her concerts despite feeling under the weather.
It takes a great amount of discipline to “do as you say” and that is one of the qualities of confident people. Over the last fifteen years, Riri has been a woman of her word. Rihanna always supports women’s empowerment and has always spread love and positivity with her work.
She’s a goddess of tattoos
Rihanna is a big fan of tattoos and body art. She has a total number of 23 tattoos on her body and each is an expression of who she is, who she wants to be, her inspirations, and her passion.
My favorite tattoo is the “never a failure, always a lesson” below her collarbone. If I had a tiny bit of confidence like a mustard seed, I would have gotten the same ink on my neck or on my ankle.
It’s so inspiring to have a reminder of what you believe in attached to your body.
We can’t stop facing bad days because challenges are caved into the fabric of our lives. And we tend to fall off the wagon when we can’t deal with tough times.
However, inspirational quotes uplift our spirit. I would love to get an inspiration tattoo on my body for one of those days I don’t feel motivated. Plus, I could cover some scars with ink.
But I won’t. I’m not that confident. I hate how people look at me when I walk past them. I’m a bit shy and I don’t like attracting attention to myself.
Tattoos are eye-catching. Having more than one means you are overly confident. I can never be so brave to go for one tattoo, let alone up to twenty-three.
Nudity is her signature style
Rihanna is a talented singer no doubt. But that isn’t the only thing that made her famous on Instagram. You see, Rihanna loves to get naked a lot. Maybe a bit too much.
Bad Gal Riri is living up to her Instagram name. The Barbadian singer and mogul have nearly been suspended from Instagram on multiple occasions because of her passion for exposing a bit too much skin, including putting her bare nipples on display.
She has also appeared naked on cover magazines and red carpets. Riri doesn’t disappoint in giving us something to gossip about. She even talked about her love for nudity in her song, “Sex With Me,” where she says, “Stay up off my Instagram, pure temptation.”
Instagram may hate Rihanna for challenging its no-nudity rule, but her more than 60 million followers definitely love her for all the right reasons. And even though many of Rihanna’s most naked photos have been taken down, her naked bikini photos remain up on her page.
She’s a dangerous risk taker
Whether it is in fashion, music, or investments, the Barbadian singer is no stranger to risks.
After her hit song Umbrella, Riri has proven to us time without number that the sky is her limit when it comes to music. She changed her style from an innocent to a bad girl vibe.
When it comes to business, Rihanna doesn’t hold back either. Rihanna made history when she became the first Black woman to create a fashion line with the global luxury brand LVMH. In 2001, with her 50% stake in LVMH, Rihanna made her first billion-dollar fortune.
For the past 16 years since her career took off, Rihanna has broken a lot of world records on and off the charts, including six Guinness World Records. The iconic artist has grown her profile from a poor singer and songwriter to a billion-dollar business mogul.
As of today, Rihanna’s net worth is estimated at $1.7 billion placing her second place to Oprah as the wealthiest female artist in the world. In entertainment, she’s the second best-selling female artist in history after Madonna.
And it takes a lot of confidence to be able to compete and break records in a competitive industry such as the beauty and entertainment industries. I won’t fool myself into believing I have such confidence.
But hey, if Rihanna could do it, there is no harm in trying, right?
