Wildflowers
A poem

The wildflowers blooming spark something deep inside of me
that inner fire of transformation
stirring my soul reminding me of something from long ago
what is it my soul is trying to remember
what is it my soul is trying not to forget
another life in the desert another time in my heart
a faraway place toiling and dancing along the Nile
a hard life not royal but I feel love
am I trying to aspire to something that happened there or trying to make amends for something I did I do not know

I only know that these wildflowers burning bright
golden saffron citrine sunflower
harkening a new season the fall of new beginnings
and the birds oh the birds sing to me an ancient song
reminding me beckoning me to follow their song which is my song the same song
the song of my heart the song of my soul
to faraway places to hidden doors locked away inside my soul inside myself

walking along the desert path the wildflowers are my guide to the depths igniting the flame of transformation
