What Does Your Name Mean?
Find Out In This Cool Urban Dictionary
Social media fans are buzzing about this fun website where you can run a search about your name and get some eye-popping descriptions. This website, Urban Dictionary, is where you can find out what your name reveals about you.
For example, if your name is Tammy, you are defined in the dictionary as seriously funny, mischievous, and down-to-earth. If you are a Tony, you are “a person you can trust. Tony makes everyone feel happy he does not bring any negative energy.” Some Urban Dictionary users also chime in that if you know someone named “Tony,” watch out. Lily4919 reports Tony “broke my heart.”
Founded in 1999 by Aaron Peckham, while he was a computer science major at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, the site was originally launched to compare urban slang used by students in different parts of California. Currently, the site is now including any word or phrase in the Urban Dictionary. Words or phrases on this popular site may have multiple meanings, usage examples, and tags. Word definitions are provided by web visitors to the site. Each definition is accepted or rejected by volunteer editors who base their decision on the number of “Publish” or “Don’t Publish” votes. Unlike the traditional dictionary, this one may contain swear words and may be offensive to some individuals.

boomer
1.) a shortened way of referring to baby boomer.
2.)is a stereotype derived from the generation baby boomer. it’s most commonly used in the popular internet phrase “ok boomer”. it is a stereotype for baby boomers, and can be described as the old person who is against video games and electronics. the old people that always rant about how things are different. they seem to be easily annoyed by change and will take it out on everyone, especially kids. while actual baby boomers range from birth years 1944 to 1964, the stereotypical ‘boomer’ could probably just be 53, like my mom. she acts like a boomer.” Source: Urban Dictionary
Rather nasty, don’t you think?
Parents may find the Urban Dictionary useful if they want to figure out what their kid’s slang words mean. Watch out if the kids say, “You are a Dope!” Relax, the kid means you are cool or awesome.
Example per Urban Dictionary: “That was FREAKING DOPE BROOO.”
Some kid may say to you, “That’s salty,” and he/she is not talking about the food. The meaning is: bitter, mad, upset. For example, “Ellen is being salty because we didn’t ask her to come out last night.”
For me, I like to use the Urban Dictionary to check out the names of my family members and friends. It’s uncanny. It really is. I’m Gucci. I am not writing about the luxury brand-name designer, but I mean, per the Urban Dictionary, its “ok/great/awesome/fresh.”
I checked out a few names just for Medium readers, and here is what I got for the names:
Kim: “Kim is a really nice girl, she is shy at first but when you get to know her she is mad…she has an unreal figure…”
Mmm..sound like anyone you know?
If you are an Elon Musk fan, you’ll find the inventor/entrepreneurs’ name used the same way people used to use “Einstein.”
“What do you think, you’re Elon?” Source: Urban Dictionary
