Why You Don’t Need To Work Hard On Medium To Make Good Money

Smart and strategic work will take you further than hard work.

Now, before you accuse me of lying, hear me out…

You can push yourself to write 10 articles a day if you wanted. But if you’re not skillful and strategic when it comes to crafting your headlines. You’re going to get 3 views and 0 reads on your articles.

It happens. It’s happened to me.

No one is going to read the 10 amazing articles you wrote, with shitty headlines.

Some simple strategies I’ve learned while writing on Medium

  • Craft headlines that incite and pique the readers' interest.
  • Consult your stats and pay attention to your articles that are doing well. If none of your articles are doing well. This is a clear sign that there’s room for improvement. Visit the profiles of top writers and craft similar headlines based on theirs. You don’t need to copy them. Let them inspire you.
  • Break your paragraphs up. Don’t write long block paragraphs. Some readers get overwhelmed and intimidated by such paragraphs, and don’t read your work. Save your hard work!
  • Create scrollable content. Social media has ruined us all. We literally scroll through most content we come across online. Present your work in a way that allows lazy readers like me to scroll through. It helps.
