Why you are disappointed inside

Let’s talk about why most of us are so disturbed.

I got a confession: I am also not peaceful within. Why? I will answer that in the end.

I used to claim that I am very peaceful and I don’t give a f**k about things, but it is not always true because sometimes things get on my nerves and they make me think, or should I say they make me overthink.

I guess this happens to everyone. After all, we are just humans with small problems that hunt us all the time. I know it is true and we can’t do anything about it because we don’t have magic powers.

So why a lot of people are depressed about their lives?

I think the answer also lies within us. We are all well aware of the fact that we cross a lot of people throughout our lives and sometimes we connect with these people and have relationships.

In that relationship, we share feelings, emotions, dreams, secrets, and many more things that are very close to us, even more, valuable than our lives, like our body and soul. Without them, our life on this planet is meaningless.

We all share those things when we find someone who’s trustworthy and reliable. When this reliable person breaks our trust, we get depressed about it. Furthermore, when this kind of stuff happens to us, we start ruminating about our past.

How people have treated us and how they have played with our feelings. All this makes us more disappointed and depressed about our lives. In the end, we start blaming God for those things.

Because at some point, we also believe that there is someone out there beyond the stars who have more control over our lives than we do. lol.

So just people’s betrayal is the only reason for our disappointment.

No way! It is more than that. Our lives have ups and downs, and these ups and downs always have a special place in our brains or hearts. To be more specific here, only downs have special places.

Whenever people let us down or anything that we don’t want happens to us, we feel like it’s a betrayal.

Sometimes we feel like this world is not meant for us and the people we are with are not the right people. Because they don’t think the way we think about things, and they don’t even understand us.

In worse cases, we feel our parents are not good enough to be our parents.

Why?

Because some things take place in our childhood, things like molestation and bullying happen to kids at an early age, and those scars never wear off, so these kids later turn into adults and feel left out in society.

I am not talking about all this here. But most people are sexually abused on this planet. Sometimes they are abused by their family members.

I know it sounds ugly, but it is the ultimate truth. According to RAINN, every 68 seconds an American is sexually assaulted.

I guess this is not just America’s problem, it is the problem of the entire world because we have started consuming the wrong kind of content. I will discuss that later. Let’s get back to this one.

So, the entire truth behind disappointment is different for every one of us. It goes like this:

Some are disappointed because they don’t have what they want.

Some are sad because they want to live someone else’s life.

Some are not happy with other people’s good lives.

Some don’t like how people treat them. It goes on and on.

It doesn’t matter, what the reason is, but most people are sad in this world. That includes me, you, and many others.

And the truth is, we can’t change it because our past is fixed. So no matter how much we overthink, it is going to remain the same.

Apart from the bad things that happen to us, what makes us disappointed with our lives?

Our expectations and comparisons

These are the two worst enemies of our happiness because they always kill our happiness in the long run.

How?

Simply, when you expect more from yourself and never get that, it makes you sad. And it is true as hell.

Moreover, both expectation and comparison are connected when you compare yourself with others. You start expecting more from yourself.

With time, this comparison and expectation make you feel bad about yourself. Also, it starts killing your happiness.

I know it is something that we all know, but we never take it seriously. In most cases, we are sad because we don’t have what others have and how they are living their lives.

This happens to all of us. Sometimes I compare my articles with others and feel like I am not good enough. Even worse, sometimes it makes me feel like I want to quit.

But quitting is not my thing, so I keep sharing things that I know and I have full faith in myself.

Furthermore, comparison and expectations not only make you feel bad, but they also kill your productivity.

How?

I think you should have experienced this while working. When we work on something, we research it, and this research leads us to a place where we find someone doing the same work as we are, but much better than us.

When that happens, we start molding our ideas, and sometimes in the process, we end up losing our original ideas. Even worse, we end up losing our confidence.

Therefore, you lose your confidence, you lose everything.

Conclusion:

There are two ways of thinking:

  1. This world is very big and widely populated, so it doesn’t matter how good you are. You are always going to find someone better than yourself. So stop comparing.
  2. Just don’t give a f**k, be who you are. Don’t think about people, what they say about you, don’t think about the past because it can’t be fixed. Focus on your life and be happy with yourself and strive to do good for yourself and others.

Also, the answer to why I am not peaceful is simple: I want to do more but feel like the day seems too small to do all that stuff.

Thanks enjoy your life.
