Use Metaphors About Food as Creative Nutrition
I can’t cook. Can you?
Eating & Writing
Tasty is to meals as diversity is creation; to be chewed on, drizzled with deliciousness, salivated over and desired, yearned for. Meals are, above all, tasty, and articles can be hot and spicy just the same.
I want someone to salivate over me, chew on my tender writing, being very creative to make a meal out of me.
Not In A Sexual Way: I’m A Nice Canadian, Geese!
For me, I am a tiny person of 152cm, 105lbs; food wasn’t on my mind, being that I grew up with very little food. Consequentially, I can’t cook very well. And I nearly burn myself at least once each time I try.
But food is something we need to get energy and sustainability. I thought that food was just food. Not valid; our bodies require different varieties of food in other qualities and distinct flavours for many reasons. Each of us has different needs.
Like I need cooking lessons, there is nothing quite like the mental food we eat. What we consume consumes us. We need food like we need information. And our brains are constantly being fed garbage, just like people eat junk food. Bad food for the brain and be poisonous. Eat healthy mind food and stay fit. Both physically and mentally, metaphorically speaking.
Genesis Brains on Fat Burning Diets
I heard once that Chess players are usually skinny. Do their bodies use more energy processing cognitive thoughts to their brains for thinking power? Suggestively, the natural energy produced by eating a meal is used more efficiently in the rapid mind of the thinker, consuming calories as these geniuses process massive amounts of data and process information faster.
In turn, they could be using up additional calories, more so than the average person. Or they know there are many bad things for us, just like there is bad writing fed to us.
Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is 100% true; more intelligent people are not necessarily smaller or thinner due to the mental muscles, so much the body uses its calories to feed the brain, are they? I don't know???
Maybe; shrug?
Food On The Mind
See, it’s easy to write with figurative language using food. Think with me now… of anything you enjoy like crafts and get right in there and devour it till there are only scraps left on the table and glue on your ladle. Flour in your hair and a beautiful cake-coloured paper mache homemade pinata lay in the bake while you wait for it to harden like the glaze on the finest creme brulee.
So I encourage you to use this food play occasionally; it’s yummy and sits nicely in the tummy. Not only because we need food, but it makes for a good meal for the brain.
The relationship between food and writing is incomparably the most straightforward comparison. If you struggle to come up with a good metaphor, writers can always relate things to eating! Try it; it tastes good.
