Why New Writers Think Writing Is Hard

Three lessons I have learned

Starting my journey as a writer, I dreamt of creating captivating articles, a dream that took me nine months to realize. This path comes with challenges due to the unfamiliar territory I had to navigate.

I needed to learn the writing norms to craft articles that truly engage readers and establish a connection. This learning can be difficult, especially for newcomers, requiring a well-structured plan and dedicated effort to make the basics of effective writing.

Patience a much-needed habit is another important aspect of my journey. Reflecting on my nine months journey, I acknowledge that mastery in writing takes time.

Despite the effort invested, witnessing the fruits of success is an ongoing process. This holds particularly true for beginners, who should be prepared for a journey spanning at least a year to achieve the desired level of proficiency and quality in content creation. An aspect that I’ve learned to be important is avoiding the trap of comparison.

Experiencing established writers with envy, particularly those boasting a substantial follower count, is natural. Yet, this habit can hinder personal growth. Every writer’s journey is unique, and rather than focusing on others, it’s paramount to unearth our passions and perspectives. We unlock the potential for genuine and impactful writing by aligning ourselves with these internal drives.

Simplifying the process involves a strategic approach. Selecting a specific writing niche that aligns with our interests or expertise provides a clear direction. Additionally, adhering to a consistent learning routine accelerates our growth and empowers us to unravel the complexities of the craft gradually.

Knowing the reality that progress unfolds at its own pace is vital, eradicating the temptation to rush the journey. Despite the initial hurdles, writing articles can indeed metamorphose into an enriching and enjoyable pursuit if we persist and adhere to these principles.
