Why do I love reading “ABOUT MEs” the most?
A way to satisfy my natural curiosity and desire to learn new things

I’m the kind of person who is inspired the most by learning how others did something that I want to do. That’s the reason I love to read the autobiographies of people who I aspire to be.
You talk about any popular personality in front of me and the next thing you’ll find me doing is reading about them on Wikipedia.
If I had to sum up how much time I spend on Wikipedia each day reading about someone’s struggle to reach a point where I’m curious to know about them, I could easily give one-third of my free time to it.
People’s life inspires me the most. It doesn’t have to be only someone who is popular or someone who has done only great things in their lives. I get inspired by anyone to who I can relate to.
And that’s the reason, I want to read “About me” as the first thing from any writer on Medium.
It helps me in the following things:
- Reading about someone’s background and interests provides me with a sense of connection and empathy. It allows me to get to know the person better and potentially find common ground or shared experiences.
- It also helps me in learning about different lifestyles, beliefs, and perspectives. It broadens my horizons and challenges my assumptions and biases.
- By reading about others, I gain a greater appreciation for the diversity of the world and the people who inhabit it.
- Reading about someone’s “About Me” section also turns out to be a form of entertainment. It’s like reading a mini-biography or getting a sneak peek into someone’s life without disturbing their privacy.
- It is very fascinating for me to learn about someone’s hobbies, favorite books, travel experiences, etc. It’s a way to satisfy my natural curiosity and desire to learn new things.
- At last, the most important thing it does is to help me choose who I want to follow and would love to read more from.
I’ve recently read many ‘ABOUT MEs’. Each one of them is Beautiful and has a story worth reading.
I have followed everyone whose ABOUT ME inspired me because I could easily figure out whether I would love to read more from them or not.
Out of many that I read and liked in the past few days, I would like to mention the ones that I can recall as I write this article.
Marcus aka Gregory Maidman, Kathleen Murphy, Art Bram, Dr. Fatima Imam, Worrickjk, A Rustic Mind (Manali Desai), Susie Winfield, Ilham Usman.
I would love to read more about different Medium members as that interests me the most.
So if you know someone whose story inspires you, introduce me to them or if you want me to read yours, just drop a response. Because I try to read “ABOUT ME” of every new person who responds to my article.
If you want to read mine, here it is:
