Why Did I Follow You?

Today I follow you because you were stuck in my memory.

For a split second, I recall you with your profile image

Tonight, nvm two nights ago, a post stuck me by surprise, which does not happen often, as I’m supposed to be the one who should be surprising you.

How a chain of thought can be taken away by the weekend phenomenon without even noticing it?

Let’s refocus, as I was reviewing the draft of the Pub I often read the story that mentioned other great writers and sometimes me as well.

It is always great to see how I have made a positive impact on your writing journey on Medium. Yet that night I did review and read a post from Mehak Adlakha, I was surprised not by the mention but by how the post was structured and the way this post flows when reading it. (the climax of that post I would leave it blank for you to read and discover)

Now All About Readers, Writers, and the Followers

And yes I do follow people too, just that I do things in batches.

I mean, If I don’t do it that way, I would be changing tasks too many times which would not be the best way to get things done in my view.

At work, I would never get up just to get what I just printed.

I would first finish what I’m currently doing, drink my water, get out of the chair, walk over and use the restroom first and then maybe stretch a bit then return back to get a water refill grab what I just printed, and walk back to my seat.

Now Let’s Continue.

Two nights ago, I did start to go over what has happened for the past month or so to get an idea of who I was engaging and of course who was supporting my path all this time.

Which also gives me the privilege and opportunity to write a thank you post just for that.

I’ll do a screenshot list of who I recently followed back because I recall the profile image to be more recognizable as this is the only image that sticks to our mind the longest or is co-relevant. A lot of time our efforts never get recognized by the person we follow and who we follow later means nothing if there isn’t a relationship of some sort.

Before that I let you know a belief of why I follow you.

1. Your effort of showing up not just in the comments but in publishing posts as and also who I see in the feed not just from the Pub.
2. The way you write and your relation with others.
3. You are great for your own reason and there is something I want to learn from you.

Now the ones I recently followed: (I do have a hard stop limit which is 15% of my follower count, there is a reason for that, you should consider having one too)

It will stop here as the other people I follow, I most likely have mentioned before and If I missed you. It must be me forgetting things and you might just have to show up one more time.

I may not know every detail of every one of you but I would like to know and learn more from you as a way to thank you for the time you put into Medium.

I might have only read or met you once, but sometimes that’s enough.

And If I didn’t reply or clap at your comments, Want to let you know that I do read every single one of them and that will never change.
