He Is on Medium; He Is So Kind!

Because he touched my heart with what he did tonight.

This is not a clickbait, nor a cajolery, he genuinely touched my heart with a small act of kindness.

Do I even deserve this?

So, I was randomly checking my notifications an hour ago, and this is me before checking Medium:

This is me after:

Me After | {Photo by Michael Heise on Unsplash}

Why the reaction?

I will tell you a quick story about one of my habits to make this article make sense.

I have a habit of approaching every new thing with 100% dedication and will power to give my best.

And then, I developed an interest on Medium.

I strived to grow and to build a community by making friends here.

I wanted to read, write, learn and grow.

But every platform comes with challenges to understand how it works and what people like.

Here I am, reading official Medium rules and introduction, but struggling internally to understand it, while writing a story or two in my drafts (some published with mixed results).

How do I learn to spread my words?

And then my surfing habit led me to the profile of one of my favourites here, Bin Jiang!

He was new too, but his articles focusing on his Medium journey were a hit! I followed him (not just the follow button, I mean his articles, daily).

And then suddenly, I started understanding everything about writing and what readers like.

He was (and is) so kind to share everything with transparency that would help every aspiring and experienced writer on Medium and beyond.

Now, even I have 200+ followers.

Author’s profile screenshot with 200 followers.

It’s amazing to see that my words are reaching a wider audience, something I would have never expected without Bin’s help.

If you don’t believe me, give a read to this article by Bin and see for yourself:

Bin has been helping me and others a lot.

But no wonders, I am distracted again. That’s not what this article was about. It was about the screenshot below:

The first Medium notification screenshot when Bin Jiang followed the Author.

Bin, who I have been seeking a lot of learnings from, followed me back.

Do you consider this a happy, heart-touching moment?

Did you know we can clap 50 times on a Medium Story? 🙃

Let’s see how many claps you can share on this one. Every clap matters.

Thanks for stopping by. :)
