Why Are Women Catty?

I don't understand it.

I may get a lot of flack for this article; however, I am just asking the question even though I know it will be a can of worms. Why are women so catty?

Tonight I was reading through my notifications; as usual, I got a lot of responses to my articles. If I am honest (you know I am going to be!) I get annoyed at catty comments from women towards other women.

I hope that I come across as a positive person full of encouragement, and I never intentionally try to "stir the gravy", as they say.

So it saddens me to read catty comments between female writers. I don't see the need for what I perceive as jealousy, or is it actually something else?

From my life experience in general, men tend to have their say and move on five minutes later; the disagreement has been forgotten about. So maybe it is a cultural thing, and this is not something you have come across.

I hear women generally comment on other women's looks, weight, dress sense, attitude, makeup, etc., slagging them off. Worse, they are "nice as pie" to their face at times, then "slag them off" when they have gone.

Please tell me, is this a figment of my imagination or real life? If this is the latter, is it due to jealousy? If not, why do they speak in such ways?

I am not asking for world peace; although that would be nice, I just think that we should consider other people when we are speaking about them.

For example, if a person is walking "funny", it could be because of an injury, so why take the p155 out of them? If a woman has lots of makeup on, they could be hiding scaring that makes them feel uncomfortable; it does not make them hussy!

Men appear to be different in their approach; I am not saying better or worse, just different; if a guy is better looking than me, so be it. If he has more money than me, congratulations; he must have worked hard for it.

If he drives a better car, maybe he took finance or saved for it; I may have saved it for a holiday instead. However, I will not put him down because he made a different choice.

Am I just different to everyone else? Do other people think as I do? Please let me know your thoughts.
