Where’s Gabriella?
Unlike Waldo, we know where she’s been and where she’s going.
At approximately 8 pm Pacific, Gabriella (aka, our fearless leader and founder of Dancing Elephant Press) and her friend, Debbee Aquila Maraglio-Lynn (PhD), arrived at our home in Henderson, NV.
They arrived without visible dents or dings but were exhausted and sleepy. Being the wonderful host and hostess, we offered food (cheese, meat, crackers, and 95 alkaline water). No, we were not preparing them for jail.
Debbee left for Lake Las Vegas (a wise thing to do) to be with a cousin. Gabriella, now firmly in our clutches, kept talking until 9:45 p.m. when we caught her napping out of the corner of one of (her) eyes.
We rushed her up to her guest bedroom, the Princess Room (Disney), where the lot of them greeted her. Oh, Mickey, Minnie, and all their pals, and the castle also awaited her in the room. I heard they had quite the time.
She was so tired she had to get up at five something dark thirty to pace, do work business, and contemplate her daughter’s new work assignment in a foreign country.
When I hobbled down to greet her, she was ready for breakfast at the local Black Bear dinner (she had never been). Her friend Debbee joined us there.
So many more topics to discuss. We parted after an almost two-hour meeting, and they were on the road just like that.
My wife and I consider it a privilege to have met with Gabriella. Meeting her friend Debbee (a veteran as I am) was a bonus.
Gabriella is as delightful as she is in a video, WhatsApp, or just chatting, one of the many ways we communicate. She is intelligent, funny, serious, and thoughtful, and as I learned (as I suspected), she cares for all our writers and editors here at DEP.
