Where Are My Rain Boots?
An etheree poem
Rain Coming Down on me Thunder roaring Water rising high All is wet, fresh, renewed Sky is dark, grass is greener Illuminating contrasts, as In life; perspective is everything And I can’t wait to jump in the puddles!
It rained today, hard. The house nearly shook and the lights flickered as the thunder roared and the lightning struck. The sky turned dark and with it, the grass turned green — more green than it had appeared before. It’s amazing how perspective works, doesn’t it?!
I love a good thunderstorm when I am in bed with a book, but otherwise, I prefer sun and blue skies to match my almost always cheery mood. A dark sky can quickly turn my insides dark too, but not today — I vowed!
Today I chose to focus on the colors — the greener than green grass, the flowers contrasted with the dark skies and I let the color of growth seep in and wash over me. I instantly felt renewed and refreshed as the grass itself and when the rain stopped — I threw on my favorite rain boots and headed out to play!
Occasionally life, like mother nature, throws us a storm and it is up to us to decide if to recoil or to dance in the rain. What will you choose?
