When’s the best time to post on Medium?
The best time to publish depends on your goals and your audience, but there are several guidelines that might help you increase the exposure and engagement of your Medium posts.
First off, gauge your audience’s time zone significance. If most readers align with your time zone, aim for publications during their likely online hours. For instance, if you are situated in Pacific Time with an audience in Eastern Time, aim for morning or evening releases to align with their feed check-in times.
If most of your audience is located in Europe, then the best times are early in the morning — while commuting to work between 6–9 am, midday breaks between 12–2 pm, and after work — while commuting back home between 4–7 pm.
Next, factor in your audience’s active days. Knowing their penchant for weekend online activity, target Fridays or Saturdays for publication.
Thirdly, factor in peak engagement hours. While this varies per audience and schedule, daylight hours generally witness more online activity and readers available for content consumption.
Consider seasonal relevance for your subject matter. For instance, content on summer activities gains traction when published in spring or summer, aligning with people’s planning phases.
Lastly, think about your audience’s engagement levels. With a robust, active following, time your publications for their peak online presence. Conversely, with a smaller, less engaged audience, opt for release times when they’re less likely online, ensuring your post stands out in their feed.
When’s the worst time to post on Medium?
Oddly enough, there’s no definitive answer. Each user’s lounging time on Medium is unique, and what may work wonders for one might not yield the same results for another.
Yet, certain times of the day and week tend to be less fruitful for reaching a wider audience on Medium. As a rule, you better not publish stuff pretty late at night or randomly on weekends, these times could pretty well be when the platform’s activity typically wanes down.
Tip: try specific release times and stick to them for a couple of weeks. If your KPIs are still low, then take note of that and try a different release time strategy. Keep testing your release strategy until you find the one that best works for your releases and your audience’s active hours.
For optimal visibility and engagement, target weekdays, preferably early in the morning or early afternoon. These slots coincide with peak online hours when users actively seek fresh content. Avoid releasing stuff during lunch hours.

Try to get featured

Quality Vs Quantity
Put quality above quantity while creating content on Medium. Producing one excellent narrative is more beneficial than producing multiple subpar ones. Prioritizing quality improves your long-term prospects of gaining views, interaction, and followers.
