When You Listen to Your Intuition But Don’t Follow Through

I’ll never know about that $100,000.

Ask, and it is given, says Abraham of Abraham-Hicks / Law of Attraction fame.

Which means to receive or not is up to you.

Several years ago, I was having one of those conversations with my Higher Self about my life, where I was, and what I would like. I felt that getting $100,000 would go a long way toward solving my problems.

I distinctly remember hearing, “Buy the lottery ticket from bin number seven.”

When I stopped to get gas, I went in to pay for it and get a lottery ticket. The one from bin number seven was $30.

“$30?” I was flabbergasted. “Too rich for my blood,” I said as I left without the ticket.

In the days that followed, I often wondered if I had given away a chance to have $100,000 because I wasn’t willing to spend $30.

Two of my mentors have taught me that there is only one source of your income. This Source can choose any of infinite numbers of channels to deliver it. We limit the providence by insisting on which channel we want it to come through.

When we open ourselves to receive any way the Universe sees it fit, we open ourselves to surprise and delight.

Recently, the Universe blessed me with a gift of a sizable amount of cash, out of the blue. Though it wasn’t a hundred thousand dollars, it was large enough to make me ponder upon how we receive money.

Did I really turn down $100,000 because of my unwillingness to part with $30? Then I thought about what I had said at the time.

“Too rich for my blood.”

Was I talking about the $30 or the $100,000 that was too rich for my blood?

Today, I know. Though it may not have been a conscious choice, I was undoubtedly referring to the $100,000. My mental and emotional state at that time wouldn’t have known what to do with it. I would have turned out to be one of those proverbial lottery winners who end up back where they were before the winning, in no time flat.

BTW, I have no doubt, none whatsoever, that the ticket held the winning combination for the $100K prize. Someone who didn’t think that it was too rich for their blood was rewarded by it. Can I prove that? No! But that doesn’t change my conviction.

The moral of the story is that you must be prepared to receive before you ask.

Because the Law says, “Ask, and it is Given.

As always, thank you for reading and responding. I hope it was time well-spent.

If you are so inclined, you could buy me some chai.
