WALKING ROUTE 66
When You Are Called in Service of the Universe
Nature finds a way to get your attention.

I woke up to a surprise and a delight. Someone had left some cash in my hat while I slept. I thought I would pay it forward and donated $10 to the firehouse coffee fund.
My destination for the day was Chelsea, OK, about 15 miles away. As I reached the west end of town, I saw a roadside cafe and went in to see what they had. Good food and cheap prices, so I stayed. I liked there old rustic decor too.

I encountered a couple of more surprises down the road. The first one was when a couple of gentlemen on a motorcycle came around simply to talk to me and find out what I was up to, and if I needed any help. They left me with a couple of bottles of cold water. You see them at the top of the page.
The next one was totally unexpected and took me by surprise. I posted some pictures of the horses I came across yesterday. I find them to be majestic animals, and the attraction is mutual. I have often seen horses come up to the fence whenever I would stop on the side of the road in Houston to admire them or take pictures.

I had never seen one gallop across a field on the other side of the road and come up to the fence. I crossed the street to meet my new friend and say hello. We made eye contact, and I asked him if I can pet him, and he stuck his head over the fence.
As I looked at him and “talked” to him, I could see my reflection in his eyes. I told him that he was beautiful and that I loved him. He stood there and just watched and listened to me. I wondered if he understood what I was saying.
Finally, I told him it was time for me to go. No sooner had I said that he started grazing the grass. He knew what I was saying.
Later on, I felt that I should have asked him if he had a message for me since he came running to me, which got my attention and made me cross the road.
I arrived in Chelsea at 5:15 P.M. The fire station was just across the railroad tracks from Route 66. I went there to talk to the person in charge, and he said he had no problem If I crashed outside. His little children were visiting him, so I made balloon swords for them.
I learned that it was the Homecoming night for the local High School, and there would be a parade downtown, so I headed that way. I made balloons for kids of all ages there and had dinner at the restaurant on the corner. I ordered Chicken and Dumplings, but it was more like chicken goulash, but delicious nevertheless.
I was posting pictures on Facebook from the parade. When I went to pay for my meal, the waitress said that her boyfriend saw my story on Facebook and told her he was buying my dinner. How does it get any better than this?
I made it back to the fire station before sunset to set up my sleeping quarters.
As I think back and ponder.
I wonder what the horse would have told me had I asked him if he had a message for me. I looked at the picture yesterday, and today, as I pondered upon it, but nothing came to me.
But as I sit here and write this, it is crystal clear that I have a strong bond with all things nature related. I am aware of our connection to the rest of the Universe, and it is somehow a part of my life purpose to bring about that awareness to the rest of the world.
Earlier this year, I had lunch with my friend Cathy who had reminded me about the Access Consciousness question “How does it get any better than this.” She taught me two more questions I can ask to make my life easier and more meaningful.
What else is possible?
How could this turn out even better than I can imagine or plan?
My little encounter with the horse — and this was the first of many I had during my walk — makes me wonder, What else is possible? And, given my “discovery” of the message that the horse might have had for me, I’d like to know, “How could this turn out even better than I can imagine or plan?”
Stay blessed and be happy, my friends.
Day 65: Leapfrogging (Original blog post).
Just for fun.
Listen to the introduction of how the song came about. (I am constantly amazed by the synchronicity of finding these little gems out of nowhere.)
