When the Wheels Take Off

September Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Shadows”

Shadow of my ride to work.

I sit back pointing the camera out of the window capturing the moment the wheels take off while the passengers begin to scream from a mixture of anxiety and excitement.

As a skydiving instructor, I repeat this daily multiple times and take off in a plane up to ten times a day. But never land in one. Mostly at least. Unless the weather changes drastically or my passenger changes their mind on the jump.

When the sun moves past the midday position and no clouds are in the sky, our southern take-off offers great photo opportunities for shadow photography. While I’m performing an adrenaline-filled job, I’m still a photographer by heart seeking these different shots fully aware most customers don’t care about them. They just want the one picture of themselves in freefall. For social media.
