When Paris Wished Me, “Happy Birthday”
Six Word Photo Story: Freestyle
Capturing the Illuminated Moment For Life.
In April this year, my husband and I visited Paris. On the night of my birthday, we went to a small Thai restaurant for dinner. We were sorely missing spicy food. The owner made the Pad Thai extra spicy at our request. For dessert, we had gelato macaroons from Amorino.
And then we went up to the terrace of the Montparnasse Tower for the view of the Eiffel at night.
The moment we stepped onto the terrace, the lights on the tower started glittering like a million diamonds.
It happens only once every hour. We’d reached precisely at 10 pm by coincidence.
It felt like the best birthday gift I could’ve asked for from Paris.
On my way to Paris, I’d gotten a job interview for a company that looked promising. Since the written test went well and I was confident about my skills, I felt excited to be working with a new client after facing challenges getting work since moving to a new country.
During our stay in Paris, another editor from a content agency had also mailed saying she was keen on my profile for a project she was handling.
Neither worked out in the end. The interview got canceled on the morning it was scheduled. I was heartbroken. I still am trying to regain the confidence I’d lost after losing two promising leads for which I’d worked hard.
But I will never forget this wonderful night in Paris when I stood beside my love, feeling the love of the city. When I was waiting with anticipation for my exciting jobs to begin.
Things change faster than we can imagine. That’s why our happy memories should be treasured and cherished for life.
