When God Turns His Back

Are you at fault?

Today’s random word is Blasphemy.

Because drabbles are short, please consider staying on this page for at least 30 seconds. I’d love to know you were here. 💕

Richard Scott grew up in a religious household. In adulthood, he turned arrogant and denounced God.

Despite committing blasphemy, it didn’t stop Richard from seeking the Holy Father’s help.

“God willing, I will get the promotion I deserve,” Rich told a friend.

“God willing, Andrea will conceive, and I’ll become the father I’ve always dreamed I’d be,” he whispered to another.

Despite his hopes, Richard remained in his low-level position and childless. The day Andrea left without a word, he called his mother and said, “See, Mom, God doesn’t care.”

“Oh, he cares,” Mom laughed. “He just was unwilling.”

Remember to visit Fiction Shorts often daily so you don’t miss my daily drabbles and those of other deserving drabblers.

Nancy Oglesby writes, “If you are unfamiliar with a drabble, it is a fiction story of exactly 100 words.”

To make the challenge more interesting, each day, she gives a random word prompt.

Don’t miss out on today’s drabble.

If you’re looking for this month’s prompts, Fiction Short’s got you covered.
