Summary

A study by the app 3Fun indicates that a majority of married couples consider having a threesome after marriage, with the idea often proposed by the wife.

Abstract

The article discusses findings from a survey conducted by 3Fun, a dating app for swingers, which reveals that 66.55% of married couples first thought about having a threesome after getting married. Contrary to the belief that such explorations occur before marriage, the survey of 2,236 couples shows a trend towards considering threesomes post-marriage. The results indicate that the topic is broached most frequently within the first three years of marriage, with a significant portion of couples discussing it after being married for at least a decade. Surprisingly, in 62.7% of cases, it was the wife who initiated the conversation about threesomes. The article suggests that a loss of sexual desire, particularly among women within the first year of marriage, could be a contributing factor to the interest in threesomes as a way to rekindle sexual excitement.

Opinions

  • Jennifer White, a spokesperson for 3Fun, opines that women are more likely to experience a decline in sexual desire after marriage, which may explain why couples, especially wives, are interested in trying a threesome within the first three years of marriage.
  • The article implies that the traditional view of threesomes being a pre-marital exploration is challenged by the survey's findings, indicating a shift in sexual dynamics within marriages.
  • The data suggests a trend where the concept of a threesome is not only considered after marriage but also often initiated by women, which may reflect changing attitudes towards sexual exploration and fulfillment in long-term relationships.

If you think that couples are more likely to try a threesome before they tie the knot, think again.

3Fun, an app that caters to swingers, asked 2,236 married couples when they first came up with the idea to have a threesome and 66.55 percent of them said it was after they had already walked down the aisle. In fact, most of the couples reported that they first became interested in threesomes after they had been married for quite some time.

“Women in relationships are more likely to lose their sexual desire after getting married within a year.”

According to the results:

  • 23.79 percent of couples brought up threesomes in the first three years of marriage
  • 15.56 percent discussed threesomes four to six years into their marriage
  • 10.02 percent introduced a threesome seven to nine years after being married
  • 17.17 percent first brought up threesomes after being married at least a decade

If you think those results are unexpected, you may also be surprised to learn that in the majority of cases — 62.7 percent — it was the wife who brought up the subject of the threesome in the relationship.

“Women in relationships are more likely to lose their sexual desire after getting married within a year,” said 3Fun’s spokesperson Jennifer White. “That’s a good explanation of why most couples want to try a threesome after getting married in the first three years and most of them are proposed by wives.”
