Do you know what famous person lives in the freezer?

Ice cube.

Anyway, I digress, back to 241543903. Although people sticking their heads in freezers may seem insane, this isn’t a new trend. Chances are, you have more questions than answers. If so, go stick your head in the freezer and come back to me.

The answers are in the back — not there, dig a little deeper, keep going past the frozen mould.

Did you find them?

He did.

Just doin’ some thinking — Google.

The head in the freezer craze has been around for decades. My brain is slow. Like Internet Explorer. 241543903 is the number you dial when you find a head in the freezer.

As Cole in Sixth Sense said “Icy dead people” — Image Flickr

No, call the police if you find body parts in your freezer.

The trend was initially created in 2009 when David Horvitz went freezer diving with a friend. After suggesting that his unwell friend stick her head in the freezer — quality advice Dave. Fast forward to 2022 and he’d advise her to self ice-olate.

Actually the random string of numbers 241543903 were created from a mixture of his freezer serial number and the barcode from a bag of edamame.

Man, I love edamame.

Searching for the answers in edamame land.

David posted to the people on Tumblr with instructions about how to stick your head in a freezer. He instructed them to save the file under the number “241543903". Meaning the cryptic tag would show hundreds of pictures of people with their heads in freezers.

Horvitz spread the word by sending 100 fliers to a Brazilian friend, who handed them out to random people. The meme went viral IRL and online. Madness.

Now that I have badly answered the question in my title, you can carry on with your day.
