The Daily Write

What’s one thing you’re grateful for today?

Finding gratitude in acceptance

June 1st: What’s one thing you’re grateful for today?

I feel grateful for so many things as I reflect on this prompt today, which is a wonderful feeling, so firstly I am appreciating the privilege of this…

The one thing that I’m choosing today is how grateful I am for the compassion, love & support forever shown to me by my family. My partner Neil, My sons Jake & Ethan & our dog Freddy.

Throughout all of my difficult health times they have consistently been there for me. Not judging, just accepting that what I was experiencing was real & being more understanding than I could ever have wished for. (ME/CFS gets a lot of disbelief due to its bizarre array of symptoms & lack of understanding)

I am grateful that they have continued to support me, to bring laughter into my day every single day even during those darker days.

To feel accepted, loved unconditionally & heard when others didn’t come through for me, is priceless & something that I’ll be eternally grateful for

For Neil, Jake, Ethan & of course Freddy… I am so very grateful to each of you — I could not have done this without you 💚

Key Message: It’s not always the big gestures or expensive trips that are remembered; being there when it mattered stays in your heart as well as your mind forever, keeping you going when things feel the most difficult.
