Summary

Midform is hosting a 30-day writing challenge throughout June, with a $100 prize for participants who complete at least 25 days of writing based on daily prompts and publish their work on Midform, including a key message and kicker in each submission.

Abstract

The Daily Write Challenge, initiated by Midform, invites writers to engage in a month-long writing exercise. Participants are required to write something every day, based on assigned prompts for each day in June. To qualify for the $100 prize drawing, writers must complete 25 out of 30 days. The length of the writing can vary from a single sentence to a maximum of 700 words. Each entry must include the kicker "The Daily Write" and a key message, which is a signature element for all Midform publications. The challenge aims to foster a daily writing habit and encourages creativity within a community setting, with a WhatsApp group available for participants to share prompts and brainstorm together.

Opinions

  • Midform values consistent writing practice, as evidenced by the requirement to write daily.
  • The inclusion of a key message in each article emphasizes Midform's commitment to impactful communication.
  • The use of a kicker is seen as an advanced writing technique, suggesting that Midform encourages skill development among its writers.
  • The challenge is designed to be flexible, allowing writers of varying capacities to participate by not setting a minimum word count.
  • The creation of a WhatsApp group indicates a desire to build a supportive writing community and facilitate collaborative engagement.
  • The random drawing for the prize suggests that while effort is rewarded, there is also an element of chance in winning the $100 reward.

To take part, base your writing on the prompts given, on their assigned days and publish with Midform. Complete at least 25 days out of the 30 and you will qualify to be entered into a random drawing to win $100!

The challenge is simple: Write SOMETHING Every Single Day based on the prompts provided below, IN ORDER, and publish it here with us on MIDFORM :) If you miss a day, just skip that prompt.

HOW MUCH you write is up to you. It can be a single sentence! OR several paragraphs. Or a couple pages (limit 700 words). The point is:

Answer the prompt Every Day.

Be sure to include the KICKER: The Daily Write. AND remember to include your Key Message!

The Key Message at the end is a hallmark for Midform. We ask for it in every article we publish.

A Kicker is an advanced Medium technique used to create a header for groupings of a particular type of article. Consider it another tool in your toolbelt! Here’s a YouTube video on how to write one!
