Darkness and Pain
What You’re Going Through Is a Phase
Life moves in darkness and light, seasons and phases

Darkness and Phases
I know what it’s like to have a heavy heart. To feel so tired of carrying your broken heart that you want to set it down and breathe. I know what’s like to want to pull the covers over your head and let the tears flow. I know what it’s like to feel so sad. To feel as if you’ll never feel good again. I know what it’s like to be afraid. To be afraid of what could go wrong at any moment, knowing it only takes a second for it all to go wrong.
I also know that the things you’re going through aren’t without purpose. When life feels like it’s removed you from the people and punishing you, I like to think of a parent's love for his kids. A parent must punish the child to save the child. Like God, Abba Father, discipline his children.
In the moment when you’re being disciplined you wonder, “How could you, father? How could You let this happen? You’re supposed to love me so why are You allowing me to hurt so bad?” You wonder why there’s no help and why you’re going through it all alone. You wonder if it’ll ever change and you'll feel better. In the moment, you’ll feel it’s unlikely. You’ve felt that way for too long, you’re afraid it’s what it is.
When your heart is heavy and weighing you down; when you’re in your darkest hour, that’s when the sun shines. It’s when the moon glows.
Seasons and Light
When you’re low in spirit, you’re disconnected from the truth. You don’t ever think what the father is thinking as he grounds his daughter and tells her no. When God the father says, “No, you can’t have your way, and it rains down on you.”
You don’t think that being disciplined is because the father loves the child. You don't think that being disciplined is because your father knows who you are. You think after the past you've lived, God doesn't even know your name. That's where you get it wrong.
Think about the seasons and how it comes and go. Think about the phases and restrictions a caterpillar goes through to be able to fly. It gets better and the light returns. Some seasons and phases are painful than others but those periods yield remarkable results.
Discipline is challenging, but the person it brings out is righteous. God disciplines you to save your soul. Like the new moon, when all you feel is darkness and you're left wondering if you’ll radiate light again, the moon becomes full and the light shines brightly. There’s joy in the mornings and it brings healing to broken hearts.
Pain is powerful, and it has purpose. It puts you on the right path. Without it, you’d enter the fire and burn. You could lose your life or your soul. You could lose your mind or your eye. It’s the only way to protect all levels of your being from eternal darkness and flames.
Discipline produces harvest, and you choose how you reap your rewards. Will you learn about the universe around you and write about it? Scribble it on a sticky note to remember? Would you meditate and chew on it? Would you think about your pain and the lessons it has for you so you can help others? You can allow pain to do its purpose so it can leave you and go train someone else. Or you can do nothing at all and be still.
Seasons and emotions come and go. Remember that when you feel like life and your heart will never be warm again. Mighty seeds grow in the darkness. Remember that when it feels like your soul will never shine again.
Let your pain teach you and don't interrupt or mess with it, and you’ll see your wounds heal beautifully. Allow your pain to grow and heal you. Let it make you stronger, wiser, and better.
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it — Hebrews 12:11 NIV www.bible.com/111/
Light and Harvest
Like time, when the numbers that are presented in front of you make you think deeply about it all, remember that in your darkness, angels surround you. Angels that God put on your path to help you in your darkest hours. When the angels smile and say hey through the numbers and you say, “Thank you, Father, for watching out for and bringing me back on the right path,”you know the universe is involved and that you’re guarded and protected.
Pain is painful, but it brings good harvest. After discipline comes a grounded and obedient kid whose dad doesn’t need to ground them anymore. A righteous child whose path is corrected.
Through the phases, the caterpillar emerges as a butterfly. It spreads its wings and flies. Through the darkness, believe in your ability to spread your wings and fly.
When you let go of control and allow yourself to be disciplined and trained by the universe itself through the seasons and phases, you live abundantly. An abundance of joy. An abundance of wealth and good health. And happiness as it comes and goes, like every other emotion.
When you allow the Universe to work on you, you find peace and love.
