What Would I Do With Many People Following Me?

A poem about the power of popularity.

I’ve managed the nearly impossible

I’ve gathered a large following of like-minded people

What do I do with the power I have in my hands?

These people will follow me to hell and back

Of this I am certain.

Again I ask myself, what do I do?

I actually think that’s simple

It’s barely a question in my mind

I would encourage them to help others

In ways big and small.

We would work together

To change the world

To make it a better place for all!

Is there anything else worth doing?

I think not!

This is my poor attempt at poetry, where I talk about what I would do if I had a large following of people who cared about my opinion and would follow me. I would encourage them all to do good in the world, as simple as that. I don’t need to dictate what it is, though I’d probably just suggest being kind to people, donating what you can when you can. To put away prejudice and hold hands with your fellow man. In my mind, this is the only thing worth having power for.

This was a response to Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) poetry prompt that she tagged me in. Hers is great and you should take a look! I’m going to tag my usual group of suspects (whom I suspect would love it if I stopped, lol). ☕️ShannonMoose, Jade Hadfield, Misty Rae, Athena Milios, and Aaditya Rajagopalan. I look forward to your poems if any of you choose to do this! Here’s the link to Lucy’s prompt.
