What To Read On Medium This Week —32
This week’s featured stories

Hi! Dear People! How are you? The past week has brought a series of bad news (Roe Vs Wade, Norway) and my heart hurts. It reminds me of my son often asking me when he was a toddler, why can’t everyone be nice to each other? Such a good question. I didn’t really have the right answer to give him back then, except to tell him that no matter how others were, he should try his best to be kind.
Sigh. And yet life goes on, does it not? Well, I am not going to bring you a news bulletin — you have your own sources for that.
Onward . . .
Coffee Times’ Project DigiMag
Did you read about our Coffee Times special mag to celebrate our first anniversary? Read Winston’s post for the details and to know how you can participate.
Me — I have been busy with the usual, besides sprucing up the home in excited anticipation of my son’s arrival in a couple of days. Basically involved purging, donating, and lots of hurried cooking. Also met some friends after ages and had a wonderful time. Made these methi pooris — dough with fenugreek leaves, flaxseed, whole wheat flour, and other tasty flavors, rolled out into small circles, and deep-fried. What? Don’t look at me like that. And yes, they were delicious with a spinach-lentil dish. What a combo! Leftovers are even better!
Now let’s get to our reading pleasure this week!
Above The Middle has a great post about how you can change your mindset when you stop doing this one thing. You’ll enjoy this.
I loved this post by Mehreennagi. I have often thought about what she wrote but never got around to articulating it as well as she has done. See if you identify with this.
Lorraine Posthuma talks about five products she has come across in France but has not found in the US. Fascinating. I mean — Chocolate chip cookie scented body wash — imagine!
This post by Scot Butwell had my heart. I was blurry-eyed with tears by the time I got to the end of the post. Or maybe something got into my eyes. Read!
Deb Groves Harman’s beautiful tale of how a dog found his way back home had me fascinated. Wonderful story and what a supportive community!
Liberty Forrest, Author always keeps you engaged with her writing. This is a lovely post from her about appreciating our differences. I loved how she likens us to boats.
Carmellita is on a daily writing spree and her posts are fabulous. Read her encouraging love letter to poets, writers, wordsmiths and storytellers.
My sister Vanita Cyril’s post had me outright sobbing. She responds to the prompt “Vulnerable” from Natasha Nichole Lake’s book, weaving beautiful words blended with sadness and strength. Do read.
Randy Runtsch (may your tribe increase) writes about publications that send out good vibes, listing them and includes a music video for each one — I totally enjoyed this one. Great vibes.
Reading Sharmila Shankarkumar’s post spooked me a little. Her writing style felt similar to mine and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Talk about an ego-massage, eh? Do read her post about how to relieve your stress — it is wonderful!
I came across Marilyn Flower’s post about how her blog to book project is a bestseller. I am so impressed — mainly because I have been planning something like this but have not gotten past the halfway point. Congratulations, Marilyn — even if I am a bit late. So inspired!
Sally Prag takes us on an enjoyable trek to the Annapurna mountain range, via Nepal, as she talks about a memorable trip from her childhood.
That wraps up this week’s reading list!
