This question is often asked by newbies. What exactly sells the best on Amazon KDP? Or what kind of products can you sell on Amazon KDP?

I will share all the types of products you can sell on Amazon KDP.

Amazon KDP is the simplest business out there. Like any other business out there, if you work, you can earn a full-time income. Make it another side hustle or full-time income.

List of the contents that sell on Amazon KDP. I will start with my favorite ones.

Fiction still rocks —

I started with fiction. There is no doubt about it. Fiction will remain the top-selling product on Amazon. If you like to write stories, then this is the best place for you. Write a short story, novella, or novel; this marketplace has a place for all. Pay attention to the quality of your work so that your readers always come back to you.

Top Categories: Romance, Mystery, Paranormal, YA

Tip: Series sells more than standalone books. It’s the easiest one to market as well.

Non-fiction has become bread and butter for many professionals —

Don’t like to write stories? Then don’t worry. I now write nonfiction myself. It doesn’t matter what business you are into; I am sure you must have something to share. There is no better and easiest way to reach a larger audience in your niche! The ebook is the best and cheapest way to do that!

Top Categories: self-help, finance, money, health, relationships

Tip: Readers buy physical books a lot in this category! Make sure you have a good professional cover and market it as much as possible.

Low-content books are easiest to get started with —

There is one more category I like a lot, and that’s low-content books. Low content is often in the form of journals and trackers. Examples include a fitness tracker, a self-care journal, a hair routine planner, and so on. I have written an article in the past where I experimented with these categories with my cousin. I focused only on planners, and the results were amazing!

Top Category: Planners, trackers, children’s coloring books, etc.

Tip: Start with one niche for better results. People like to buy many books at the same time!

Some more categories that sell quite well on Amazon KDP —

I don’t experiment with this category anymore but it gave me some good results. But that’s a 5-year-old experiment, not now. If you like, then you can go along with it.

Short Stories — I still like to read in this category. Amazon KDP has its own category called Kindle Short Reads. You can read the short books in a single sitting. You can write less than 4,000 words. It will take up to 5 days to write and edit if you have a complete story in mind.

Children’s Books: These are some of the most expensive books out there. Whatever comes under the children category is always expensive. Examples are clothes, food, accessories, toys, and books. If you write a story with pictures, you can sell books on Amazon KDP. Parents around the world love to buy books for their small kids!

Top Categories: Anything with Animals

Tip: Add illustrations.

Conclusion

I have included only those categories in which I read and write. These categories are best for those looking for either a side hustle or full-time income. Play around a little. Use a pen name if you want. And see which category fits you the best.

After all, it is all about your interest. If you like it, then you’ll find a way to make money from it.
