What It’s Like To Fly On This Unusual HelloKitty AirPlane?
This extraordinary flight to nowhere offers a unique aviation experience
Hello-Kitty began as a Sanrio character of a girl with a small cat named Charmmy Kitty. Canonically, Hello Kitty is a young girl who is an anthropomorphization of a Japanese Bobtail cat wearing a red bow with no mouth. She is enrolled in third grade and lives in the suburbs of London. She is a twin, and her sister Mimmy looks exactly like her but wears a yellow, not red bow. They both celebrate their birthdays on the first of November, making them Scorpios.
Contrary to popular belief, Hello Kitty herself is not a cat, but a girl.
She is physically and possibly biologically a cat, but canonically she is a young girl. Unlike other Sanrio characters, Hello Kitty became a global franchise pretty fast, and today she has her own plane offering unique experiences to travelers. Other Sanrio characters famous in pop culture include My Melody and Macaroon. In the universe of Hello Kitty, all these characters are related and have their own lore.

History of the Hello Kitty Plane
In October of 2005, Hello Kitty announced its first airbus, but due to the product license expiring, Hello Kitty had to disappear. Then on the 50th anniversary of Sanrio, they announced the return of the Hello Kitty airplane.
The airline now offers an extensive in-flight experience and has added to its lot 3 more airbuses. Making a total of Seven EVA special Livery Jets, namely:
- Shining Star
- Sanrio Family Hand in Hand
- Joyful Dream
- Comfort Flight
- Friendship Bows
- Celebration Flight
- BAD BADTZ MARU
On stepping onto the plane, you should expect to be greeted by flight attendants wearing Hello Kitty aprons. Your seat including your headrest, pillows, napkins and even forks will all feature the friendly face of Hello Kitty. The airplane bathrooms are also decorated with the Hello Kitty theme.
The Aeroplane is decorated extensively with Hello Kitty merchandise and offers pink champagne and meals that honor Kitty’s theme. The flight offers all the usual luxuries of a first-class journey with a touch of Sanrio magic.
What is new in the flight experience?
The three luxurious new airbuses are actually EVA’s first A330–300s!
Each one is designed with 30 seats in Premium Laurel Class and 279 in Economy Class. The in-seat audio video on demand (AVOD) entertainment system has been upgraded so that, besides the Hello Kitty theme, passengers can have an easier, more user-friendly interface and updates that better the experience of personal devices.
The 15.4-inch touch screen allows passengers to have a better look at pictures and enjoy their favorite music with the help of a Photo Viewer, PDF viewer, and Media Player on personal devices.
Premium Laurel Class seats easily transform themselves into a nearly flat comfortable bed and the steepness of the seats has been increased to 62 inches (157cm).
110V electrical outlets and ports for personal electronic devices compatible with iPod, USB, and RCA are also available in the premium class.
The steepness of the seating in Economy Class is 32 inches (81cm) and the seats are configured so that electronic boxes don’t hog a lot of space underneath them, leaving greater leg space for the passengers. The economy also features a 9-inch touch screen, a 110V electrical outlet, and a USB port at every seat.
EVA has furnished its A330–300s with the newest Panasonic eX2 AVOD. Along with a 3D data display system that displays flight information in beautiful, colorful images, the system shows a new Connecting Gate Information (CGI) function that permits commuters to check information about connecting flights, arrival terminals, and baggage carousel locations.

While Sanrio Fans all over the globe want to take these unique flights, for Hello Kitty fans especially, this is the perfect experience.

Being a cartoon character, the flight features some things exclusively for children, like the playroom. The room has a small pink slide, with colorful chairs, and seating cushions for anyone who wants to keep themselves entertained. The playroom is adorned with the cutest artwork, pink couches, and cotton clouds for you to fall in love with this magical dreamland.
