What Is Your Founding Thought?

What thought resulted in ‘You?’

Go back to the very beginning of ‘you.’ No, I am not talking about the moment you were born into your current physical body. And no, I am not talking about when your parents had coitus and created a fetus for you to occupy. You existed long before you entered this life. (And you will exist long after you lay your current body down.)

You were originally birthed from a thought and, like all thoughts, you were projected out into eternity to manifest that thought continuously in all its many forms. That thought that you originated as, that ‘founding thought,’ is your blueprint. Along your trajectory through eternity you manifest that thought in every way imaginable; through physical constructs, through mental constructs, through feeling constructs, through spiritual constructs, and even through thoughtless and formless existence.

(And all of your own thoughts go through the same trajectory.)

At times we seem helpless and hopeless in our physical lives. We cannot find our purpose, our life situation makes no sense, we encounter obstacles at every turn, we cannot find what we are looking for and we are not really sure what we are looking for. We ache for guidance. We pray to guardian angels, we search for something everyone calls a ‘higher self,’ we meditate, we study, we seek out the guidance of psychics and astrologers and gurus and internet pundits. We go to church and we wear crystals and we pay psychologists to tell us what is wrong with us. We take drugs in hope of epiphany or we become a reclusive monk in hopes of finding that elusive something that finally makes sense of our existence.

We try to ‘understand’ using the gray matter in our noggins; that temporary computer-like thing we get to use during our current ephemeral lifetime. But that darn brain can be quite the hindrance to understanding. The original meaning of the word, ‘understand,’ is to ‘stand under.’ It has nothing to do with thinking.

To find any meaning or purpose or guidance in life we must open up to and reconnect with our ‘founding thought;’ that thought we were created from. To do that we must become an empty vessel and call forth that ‘founding thought.’ We must release all the barriers to the ‘founding thought’ that have developed over the course of our current life as well as all other lives and times spent between lives. We must stop thinking and ‘stand under’ the ‘founding thought’ that we are and allow it to flow unimpeded into us, through us and outward from us. We must become a conduit for that ‘founding thought.’

That ‘founding thought’ is not a concept. It cannot be intellectualized, it cannot be put into words, it cannot be turned into dogma, and it cannot be taught. We can only surrender to it, feel it and live it.
