The Power of Poetry
What Is The Best Way to Become a Published Poet?
The winner will receive $3,000

I have been writing it since I was tiny, and my mom used to say,
“Don’t worry, honey! You’ll still be able to read your own poems when you’re 90!”
And she’s right. Because with the right tools, poems can be a gateway into learning anything, whether exploring new realms of creativity or getting more in touch with yourself, including making your life more enjoyable wherever you are!
But the question is: How to become a published poet? That’s a tricky question. But I would say, to become a published poet, you need to be noticed. So first, start by writing it! I know, right? Easy!
1. Create a blog or share it on BMC media. 2. Enter your poetry in literary competitions ($) 3. Publish in ezines, 4. Send your poetry to publishers of books and collections. 5. Get to know other poets through groups and substacks.
Create a blog or share it on social media.
Create a blog to share your poems, and comment on the work of others. Write about your own work, and read and comment on the work of others. I propose that bymeacoffee is a simple and undemanding platform with the possibility of drinking coffee in good company. The venue is well synchronized with Twitter which I also recommend.
Enter your poetry in poetry competitions.
Entering competitions is suitable for your poetry and confidence. For example, the Emerging Poet Prize closes on April 17, 2022. This single poem prize is specifically for emerging poets and only accepts submissions from poets who have published fewer than two full-length collections at the time of submission-although poets who have not yet published books are especially encouraged to apply. The winner will receive $3,000, publication, and a short interview in Palette Poetry.
Publish in magazines or ezines,
Send your poems to magazines and ezines (online publications). The Power of Poetry is a great starting place. The Power of Poetry is a sensory experience, 3 steps, and you can submit your poem.
Send your poetry to publishers of poems and collections.
Here are some suggestions. Read the publication before you send your poetry. Review recommendation guidelines from the publisher and carefully adhere to them. If you are shipping poems by mail, always enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for a response. Unless guidelines specify otherwise, send only three to five poems.
Get to know other poets through the community.
The Augmented’s journey is such a place. This is for anyone who wants to see things differently. Anyone who wants to be inspired by examples of how new poetry can transform the way we live our lives. It’s for anyone who wants to think outside of the box.
The Power of Poetry is the power of transformation.
It’s for anyone who wants to be inspired by examples of how new poetry can transform the way we live our lives. It’s for anyone who wants to be changed by recent experiences in this world that constantly propels us to see things differently.
