The Power of Poetry

Don’t Write Prose, Write Poetry

Poet’s Recommendation

Why You Need to Learn How

I escape to poetry to keep things real. But it’s fiction, I know you know.

Prose consists of poorly organized words, And poetry sounds weird when it rhymes. I can’t write prose like I used to; Within it I was hiding. In poetry, there are hidden meanings within each word; In prose, my thoughts are in between sentences. I feel fine when I’m writing poetry and prose; In my mind, they’re still connected. While writing poetry, I don’t need to be dramatic, For me, it’s foolish to bother with a script. When the words flow like they do so well on their own. I read my heart into each piece of prose; Each poem is different than the previous poem. Despite how hard I try to be all the time, It’s difficult for me to write in style all the time. I write poems that help me keep things real;

Fiction hides something it wants to hide. I can’t tell the difference between poetry and prose; But I’m damn sure no one else could tell the difference either. On my phone, I have a book full of the big lie; Yet I never read them and never will. What I write is twelve steps away from what I think, I need to stop making myself sad. I will no longer let fiction misguide me; Let my thoughts flow like they do so well on their own. Time passes by slowly, some days; Other days, it disappears all at once. Some days are long, and some are short; some are painful, and some are not.

In the world of words, you’re safe from harm, you can be anything and anywhere, no one can touch you, and there’s no such thing as harm. You don’t even need to be there to escape the sorrows of the world because here we’ll always be together.

A poem is a collection of words that are put together in a certain manner to relay messages

Poetry is a way to escape from this world and become a character of your own It allows you to talk without saying anything. A visitor will have no clue that the person they’re listening to is really talking about their feelings and desires. It’s been said that poetry describes our world better than prose It allows us to look at things from a different angle When you read poetry, you don’t have to know anything about the topic to understand it

It’s more about the flow of words that makes the meaning You don’t need to worry about organizing your thoughts in poetry. It won’t hurt you if you have no specific purpose for writing the work One can say that poetry is not a language, but an art The most important thing to remember when writing poetry is that even though it needs to make sense, it doesn’t have to be rhyming and organized. It’s how well it flows that matters.
