What is the Best Way?

“I thought love was just another word,”; he said. She smiled, her sad needful hand tracing the outline of his face. And now it is all my life is about, she whispered, the wasted words she’d nursed for months; found a way to say.

She knew what he needed to hear, so she told him, her voice soft with wonder, wide-eyed, and racked with pain. She was so beautiful to him; it pained him to see her that way. It was beautiful to see. But in the end, it was not enough.

The light had faded from her eyes, the face of his one she’d watched so long. it was time to say goodbye.

The Best Way

She would give anything for him, everything for him, for the only thing she could. She loved his brokenness; she loved his sadness. It was always there, and she loved him. he needed her to be strong and tell him what he wanted to hear.
