What If you were the last person on Earth?
If you were the last person on earth, what would you do? What would happen to you?
We’ve all had the terrible and fascinating thought: What if I were the last person on Earth? at some point in our lives. How would that be? You discover that you are the only person remaining in the world when you awaken one day. It’s kind of cool, yes? There are no restrictions, rules, or commitments. Let’s dive in!
Realization
Naturally, you would initially have to deal with the overwhelming shock, sadness, and disorientation of losing a loved one. But how soon might a Westerner living in the twenty-first century adjust to a situation where they are in charge of every aspect of their survival? Water, food, and shelter are the three fundamental basic needs that specialists in survival and bushcraft often emphasize. You would have plenty of options for empty buildings to pick from, making it easy to find shelter.
A person can often go six weeks without eating but just a few days without drinking. There is no longer any electricity, and there is no longer any upkeep. Pumping stations and purification facilities that help deliver water to our homes would consequently abruptly stop operating. No matter how shy you may believe you are, humans are sociable creatures. We have thrived in groups since the dawn of civilization. In our lives, the human touch is crucial and helps us feel less stressed. You will experience a sudden onset of terrible loneliness that you have never experienced when all people are suddenly gone.
Can you survive?
You might not make it as the last human on Earth; it will be very difficult. You can’t, however, state that you have no chance of surviving. There are ways for you to survive if you are intelligent and willing.
Ensure a Reliable Fuel Source: You will be surrounded by abandoned cars when you are the last person standing; however, the gasoline in most of these vehicles will shortly expire. The majority of processed fuels don’t last more than a year or two on the shelf; in fact, organic ethanol can start to degrade in just three months.
The majority of your fuel needs will be for travel. So while you still have usable fuel, choose a location to relocate to and stock up on as much as you can so that it lasts you a while.
Learn to hunt and farm: When there is no refrigerator to keep food items fresh, processed protein and most other foods will start to spoil. At that point, learning how to cultivate your own food will be essential. Make sure you understand the fundamentals of farming. Millions of free books are available worldwide if you still have any doubts.
One of the most important things you’ll need to survive as the last person on Earth is to learn how to farm and find a good, natural food supply. You will eventually need to learn how to hunt, so prepare for that.
Learn to Make Water Distilled: For survival, water is just as important as food. Even if you collect as many bottles of water as you can, you will ultimately run out. You will have to learn to make water drinkable on your own as the last person standing.
You may develop a variety of straightforward distillation systems with perseverance and hard work. If you wish to survive, set up camp near a reliable natural water source and create a distillation system.
Find the Right Housing: While you still have good gasoline, relocate to a region with a mild climate. You will need to find a suitable shelter because there is a good likelihood that the cities will become untenable. Your best hope would be to go to grasslands where the vegetation is naturally less dense. You’ll find it simpler to create your own environment.
In most parts of the world, you may locate abandoned homes; choose one that doesn’t appear to require much upkeep, and manage your area by routinely cutting the grass and keeping your surroundings tidy.
Locate a Pet: You cannot survive as the last human on Earth by only concentrating on safeguarding your physical body. Your mental health must not be neglected at all. A damaged mind also damages the body. Humans are accustomed to residing in and thriving inside communities. We yearn for and need friendship. Being the last human on Earth, it makes sense that you’d want to keep a pet to provide some company.
Get smart: Obviously, you would need to educate yourself on a wide range of topics, but fortunately for you, you have plenty of free time and access to millions of books that have all the knowledge you’d require to live successfully on your own. Therefore, even though it could be challenging at first, you could technically live to be the last person on Earth. Do you truly want to, though?
Alone in the world
Although the aforementioned obstacles are formidable, you would have no trouble getting by thanks to the millions of books that are kept in book stores and libraries. They could locate relevant books to assist you with practically any issue if you searched long and hard enough. Life would be difficult and occasionally brutal for you, but as long as you maintained your sanity and avoided problems, you might live comfortably, perhaps even luxuriously if you desired. Unlike the majority of wild creatures, we did not inherit strong fur, razor-sharp claws, or enhanced instincts; yet, we did inherit the capacity for thought and imagination. Regardless of how ethereal they may seem, these gifts — granted to no other species on Earth save humans — have helped us rise to the top as the most dominant and powerful beings in the universe.
