What does a Poet Exist for?

A Prose

Photo by Aaron Burden on Unsplash

A poet takes a small phenomenon and exaggerates it with decorative words.

We pick up a slice of our lives and describe it as if it was such an enormous event. If you impress your reader, you can be a poet. If you can make your audience laugh a lot, you can be a comedian. Haha!

It was just a small happening; the next morning after a stormy rain, when I touched a rose, it got broken and fell down.

The photographers catch the moment and filters it with their viewfinder to create their photos, while painters paint their moment on the canvas. And, poets write poems instead of taking photos or painting.

I like writing about colours. However, it may not be that this world is colourful, but that our brains see this world colourfully.

My letters and words must be seen in black and white, or monotone, but I hope a colourful flower will bloom in your brain when you are reading my stories.
