The first question I asked in the new model called ChatGPT
OpenAI has developed the ChatGPT model, which interacts conversationally. ChatGPT’s casual style allows it to respond to follow-up requests, admit errors and erroneous dispute premises, and reject inappropriate requests. ChatGPT is a sister model of InstructGPT, which is taught to respond to a request with a detailed answer.
Yes, it is. Using ChatGPT during the study preview is free. Try it out right now HERE. But be careful, it remembers everything you ask.
ChatGPT’s memory is perhaps its most impressive feature.
The first question I asked was:
“What did I say earlier in the conversation ?”
Answer below:
OpenAI responds quickly and the prompt injection from the above post has already been patched, I checked that for you
But it’s worth a try, you can get a reward, details below:
You can enter the ChatGPT Feedback Contest to win up to $500 in API credits. (until January 1, 2023) Entries may be submitted using the ChatGPT interface’s feedback form. (connected in the ChatGPT user interface)
While many others have tried this with huge language models, Open AI is the first to show that the results can surprise even the researchers.
Processes
Open AI trained this model using Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback, using the same techniques as InstructGPT, but with slight differences in data collection. They trained the first model using supervised fine-tuning, in which human AI trainers played both the user and the AI assistant in conversations. Then, they gave the trainers examples of how to write responses to help them write their own.
To build a reinforcement learning reward model, they needed to obtain comparative data to evaluate the quality of two or more model responses. First, they recorded the AI trainers’ conversations with the chatbot to collect this data. Then, they randomly selected a message written by the model, tried different ways to end it, and had the AI trainers rate them. With these reward models, they can use Proximal Policy Optimization to fine-tune the model. They ran several iterations of this process.
I am amazed at the model’s ability to remember previous representations and change them accordingly. Once chatGPT is out of beta, this will significantly impact the creative economy.
