What Can You Do When Your Views Are Down? The Lucifer Approach

So your views are down. That’s ok, so are mine and I’m not sweating it. Do you know why? Because I have a very important tool at my disposal. It’s called The Lucifer Approach. The name is inspired by the riveting TV series with the same name, that I may or may not have binge-watched for the past 3 days.
I can neither confirm nor deny. But it did help me come up with an awesome plan to beat the stats slump so you do the math.
Of course, when you check your stats and see the views are down, waaay dooown, the natural first reaction is to panic. But don’t! Ever seen Lucifer panic? Nah! So you shouldn’t either!
What to do instead:
Smile.
A bit of a devilish smile goes a long way and it puts you in a better mood to handle the drop in views from a more relaxed perspective.
Investigate the case.
Is it summertime? Yes. So what do you expect? People are out, making out on blankets, enjoying sweet summer nights and you imagine they’ll be here reading your articles? No, you have to cut them some slack and know they’re coming back in September when things cool down and they need advice on how to make back the savings that they blew through while having fun in the sun.
Stats always go down in the summertime. Don’t be discouraged. Being a freelancer has its ups and downs and summer is usually a down. If you don’t give up, you’ll be riding the high wave in no time.
It’s part of the thrill of freelancing and you love it, don’t you, you little devil?
Put yourself out there.
Don’t be boring! Get involved! Socialize, charm, hypnotize!
How does that translate in terms of stats? Read more! Write more!
Support your fellow writers by reading their work and I guarantee you will get back your investment tenfold. It might not be an instant return (although sometimes it is) but you will get it back, that’s a guarantee.
Put more of your work out there. Yes, you will be doing more work for the same number of views or even less but again, it will pay off. Instantly? Maybe. But probably not. However, the more articles you published, the more views and the more chances at becoming viral.
Quantity is not everything, but it matters. Just like size. Ask Lucifer!
Moral of the story: smile and do the work. You can even skip smiling. But do the work. Regardless of your stats. Regardless of your mood. Regardless of the time of year. Hard smart work will always pay off.
