Over the past several months I have been adding my voice, such as it is, to various publications on Medium. As my confidence grew, I began to experiment with a variety of thoughts I wished to express.

There was one publication more than any other that was equally as accommodating of my flubs as my better efforts. Dr. Mehmet Yildiz has created a space where writers are encouraged to learn and grow in a community of positivity.

We may not always produce the highest quality work, but we are always made to feel confident here as we hone our craft. The good doctor’s methods may rile some who feel superior in some way, but I can say unequivocally that if it were not for ILLUMINATION, I would have had trouble continuing down this path.

We can all use a little pat on the back once in a while.

This morning, I opened my email to find I had been tagged by Liam Ireland, a very fine writer and editor for ILLUMINATION. Imagine my pleasant surprise to learn that Liam had featured me in his article;
