What About The Road You Didn’t Choose?
Paper Poetry Prompt: the road not taken

do you ever wonder about that road not taken?
do you ever wonder how things could have been?
not in a ruminative way as if to ask why didn’t I choose “the right” option,
but to wonder how an alternate universe you is doing,
perhaps an alternate universe you that wasn’t encountering a pandemic, or an alternate universe you that ended up pursuing a completely different career.
did she learn the same lessons? grow the same way?
I wonder, AU Lucy, how you’re doing.
I had this prompt scribbled away on some notepaper that ended up in a nice unhealthy pile of miscellaneous stuff, never to see day of light until now. The prompt was originally from Connie Song for Suntonu Bhadra’s publication Paper Poetry! The prompt itself (oops) was from September 26 — October 10, 2020. Original newsletter:

Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) thinks that as long as she doesn’t end up like Jonas from Dark (Netflix), everything is fun, I suppose.
🐰🕳 Hop down the rabbit hole!
