We’ll Keep You In Line
A poem on oppression.
Don’t speak! Bite your tongue, Or have it ripped out, denied Don’t look; close your eyes While we pull down the blinds
Here is your bubble Where you’re safe, confined (Not for you, but for us) Don’t you dare stray outside
You’re an ant, march along In your shackles, side-by-side Don’t bother with false freedom You’ll be dead if you try
For this is true freedom! Naysayers, they lie Don’t get caught in their schemes If you do, you can’t hide.
But fear not, little lamb, It’s on us you rely We see and hear all In your safety, we take pride
Look into your phone now While we filter your finds A history rewritten In a way we’ve defined
Don’t think too much Let us be your guide. Ideas are deadly In this world we’ve designed
Big Brother is here There is no need to cry We’re watching you closely We’ll keep you in line.
