Welcoming the Night
Not everyone
The cylces of life are divine. The circle of life, death, and the ever darkening of night before the sky breaks forth its light.
A transitioning of time in space. A reminder of our human frailty and mortal phase.
Night… When all conscious motors stop. When the subconscious takes over, filling our minds of daily leftovers.
This swiftness of the night arrives with few greetings or care. A droopy eyelid, a yawn or two, and a sudden energy drain from nowhere.
All are reminders of imminent submission to the endless darkness of the night.

Author’s note: For those who have a blessed and restful sleep, the nightly hours are refreshing. For others, the night can be a journey of torment. Loneliness, illness, and insomnia rob many of a good night’s rest wherein healing and regrouping should occur. For those the swiftness of the night may come all too soon.
Thank you for reading. Wishing you a restful sleep!
Thank you Diana, for this thoughtful and reflective prompt.
