Welcome to Spread the Ripple. I am Ali, and I would love to spread more kindness, positivity, and happiness (KPH) into this world.

About Spread the Ripple
Spread the Ripple is a place for sharing stories on KPH. We are proud to be part of Sista Publications.
The scope for KPH stories is extensive. Below is just a small example of a story's possible themes.
- Self
- Strangers
- Friends and family
- Animals and nature
- The planet
Consider how you have been affected by KPH and how you have spread these virtues to others.
How does KPH show up in your life?
Submissions
We would love to receive your stories in relation to KPH.
But before you submit anything, please read through our guidelines for writers. There are helpful tips on formating, grammar, how to hyperlink and cite external sources as well as other top tips to help your writing pop.
A powerful story builds resonance through personal stories, backed up with facts (with appropriate links), and is informative. This type of story leaves readers feeling slightly altered. It may give us goosebumps, invoke laughter or draw out tears. Whatever it does, it affects us.
Make us feel we are right there with you.
Your stories can be written in any style as long as they are thoroughly spell-checked and well-formatted.
This means personal essays, persuasive essays, social commentary, opinion pieces, fiction, poetry… yup, it’s all welcome here.
Absolutely no AI! Any submissions with AI detected will be rejected.

We may make small editorial alterations to your story. We may also provide editing suggestions for you to consider. If your submission requires extensive editing, it will be rejected.
We only accept unpublished drafts.

Titles and subtitles
These are super important and distinguish between readers skimming past your story or diving on in. So let’s be eye-catching.

Images
Include a good-quality image with your submission. Ensure you have the right to use the image and cite the source appropriately. There are plenty of free image sources online. I use Unsplash.
Here is a good guide to optimising your image use.
Tags
Use your full 5 tags to allow readers to find your story. We ask that you include Spread the Ripple as one of your tags. Other popular tags for this publication include:

If your story fits, you will be added to Spread the Ripple as a writer.
You will hear back from us within a week.

We are just a very tiny ripple in a massive ocean.
Please share the love with your fellow writers and engage with the stories here. While we know KPH does not necessitate a 2-way engagement, we also know reciprocity builds cohesion and community.

Money and Stuff
Spread the Ripple is a passion project and does not make any money from your work. We can not offer any payments at this time.
If you are signed up with the Medium Payment Partnership Program then your stories will earn money if they are published behind the paywall.
We do not have the BOOST power (yet), but we are part of Sista Publications, a collective of four independently run publications. We are privileged that our friend who runs two of these publications — BITCHY and The Point of View — is a nominator.
