ILLUMINATION Edition

So far this week I have resolved to read more short fiction, review and improvement personal and financial investments, as well as eat more lentils and plan my days better. How about you?

I love a short story with a great ending and Justin Caldwell does not disappoint. Nice one. Justin, if you’d like to join ILLUMINATION please click here.

Bert squinted against the sun as it crested the eastern horizon. The fall air was crisp and cool, but he still preferred to run in shorts. It wouldn’t take him long to work up a sweat.

Aldric Chen is a prolific writer for both ILLUMINATION and Technology Hits. He writes about subjects that are interesting and meaningful to people who want to embrace technology and learn how to be successful in life. Investing money in ourselves and our future is good advice.

I love to think about investing. It makes my mind work harder. Using money to make more money is a life lesson. Any simple takeaway from this lesson trumps reckless spending.

This week’s edition would not be complete without a nod to New Year’s Resolutions. Shea Hulse adds in superstition. She is so right about pigs, pork and legumes. The Czechs love eating pork, celebrate a golden pig on 24 December and eat lentils to invite riches into their lives for the coming year!

You, me, and everyone between wanting this New Year’s Day to mark a phenomenal new beginning to our lives. If there is anything that 2020 has taught us, it’s that many of us have wasted a lot of time. A lot of time on things that simply don’t matter.

I’m going to take a few tips out of George Blue Kelly’s book, especially the one about breaking the morning routine.

Having a new year resolution and goals for the entire year is easy. But the accomplishment of those objectives is what matters. The most important thing in your life is not just having desires, but actually having those desires become reality.

What shall we finish off with? Ooh, another work of fiction!

Some very dark material here from Ian Worrall. I just wanted to shout out, “don’t go into the basement!” Didn’t you?

Turning on his flashlight he began going down the stairs, each one creaking and bending under his weight, although only one hundred and seventy pounds, he wasn’t all that surprised at this, the place was twenty years older than he was. Relieved when he got to the bottom, he scanned his flashlight around the room, something black scurried out of the light.

Star of 2020

For me, Lanu Pitan has to be the star reader, commenter, and engager of 2020. She is always the first person to any article I have written and published on this platform! I have signed up for her newsletter so I can get better at returning the honour.

Her articles are also very helpful to me and many others. Focusing on natural remedies for our everyday ailments. Bananas, for example, are great for raising bone density and lowering arthritis pain.

In one of her latest articles, Lanu shares her wisdom on two types of toxin and the need to eliminate toxins from our bodies to support the immune system. I’m looking forward to part 2.

Thank you for reading.
