Weekly Wisdom from Karen

ILLUMINATION Edition

This week we are looking at pieces of wisdom related to opportunities for improving ourselves. I might have snuck in a piece on the irresponsibility of some folks who couldn’t care less about the environment. They really do need to work on their self-improvement and dig deep for some common sense.

Ons Bouneb is a cheerful human with two neat tricks to increase her visibility on LinkedIn. I’ll be reviewing my profile soon. You might want to, too.

I was active on LinkedIn; I enjoyed spending time intelligently and interacting with users of the platform; it helped me to get opportunities and share my prospects there.

This next article by GranPa-Festus is the best, most comprehensive article I’ve read on the subject of living a happy life. I hope many people read it and find a satisfying and happy way of living.

I want to set an informal tone for this. I really want to do that. This isn’t really intended for your average Medium reader. More for the average Joe, by an average Joe. See the last line of this piece to see the reason why.

The behaviour of people who leave rubbish behind them on the street, in car parks, in forests really annoys me. It doesn’t take much to find a bin or take your trash home with you.

Dayton Parks broaches a subject close to my heart.

While I was walking through the store, I found a package of meat abandoned on a shelf in the chips section. There was a box of dog food in the wine department. When I went outside, there was a pair of rubber gloves on the ground next to my truck. I looked around and saw a gust of wind blow a face mask across the parking lot.

This new writer on ILLUMINATION, Nazlican Kurt, writes about a sensitive topic with great understanding and offers words of wisdom. I think a lot of people will appreciate her words.

In general, people who consider themselves worthless or whose feelings of worthiness are easily affected by external influences are more jealous.

Here’s more great advice for writers from George Blue Kelly. He shares his view of Zulie Rane’s highly popular narrative essay writing style.

There is no wisdom in doing the same thing over and over again. Isn’t that what is referred to as insanity? If I ain’t learning anything or getting something new from how I’ve been doing a particular thing, then what’s the point?

Star read

This is one young woman who I greatly admire for her abundance of energy, writing and editing skills, and astronomic prolificness! Dew Langrial I worship at the altar of your talents and experience.

This is a short piece which is full of wisdom for all writers. Dew’s stories are very well written and full of wisdom, despite what she says about her own work.

In fact, read the comment from The Maverick Files, I think he is full of wisdom too.

Is your mind drawn in several directions at once? That’s because your boundless freedom is an obstacle.

Thanks for reading.
