Weekly Wisdom from Karen
#Technology edition
Hello Weekly Wisdom readers. I’m fascinated by technology, aren’t you? I do prefer the easy to master sort, so I chose five pieces that I thought might help everyone out in one way or another.
Fareeha Arshad is super helpful in providing some whizzy keyboard shortcuts. I’m sure all you young minds out there will remember some of them. Some of us older folks might struggle, for example, the only phone number I have memorised these days is mine.
Who doesn’t need a little help every now and then to drum up an idea or three? Jade-Ceres Violet D. Munoz shares some useful tools.
I picked this one by Janice Arenofsky because it is about technology but is also entertainingly written.
One by one I implemented the helpful hints, which included cleaning your keyboard with compressed air (which I didn’t have but improvised with a soft cloth and a lot of lung power).
Henner Townlove gives us — in his own, bizarre, words — mind-boggling technology.
Just for fun, the first search of the intro to this week’s Weekly Wisdom was found in the Library of Babel on page 129 of 410. I wasn’t sure why there are only 410 pages, nor about the reliability of the site. A second search revealed a different page and surrounding words. Is this the Twilight Zone of Words? The brainchild of Jorge Luis Borges, based on his story The Library of Babel.

The about page reveals a lot more information, see for yourself.
I think we all know Wael Itani is right about automation coming for us. This writer shows us what we need to improve our writing skills. To automate our process.
As robots leave the confines of factories, and rest on tabletops, in preparing for automation, you should write, read, and review.
Technology publication
In keeping with this week’s topic here is an invitation to write for a technology publication from Agnes Laurens.
