Weekly Wisdom from Karen
Letting go instead of drowning and other rather helpful information.
Karen Humphries is a very wise woman. She shares with us the art of letting go. I first noticed her because she and I have the same forename. When I read and then clicked the publish button for this piece I knew I had to bring her to other readers attention. What she writes rings true with me.
By writing out the negative thoughts and feelings, you’re actually letting go of all the yuk that you have been storing inside of your mind. The actual task of writing out the emotion manually, as opposed to typing is the key here. ~ Karen Humphries

My favourite part of Isaiah’s piece is:

I might very well try learning a language while power walking.
James G Brennan’s poem tells a gripping story of unwarranted panic.
Urshel Lee Metcalf shared what he learned in a yoga class not from the yogi but from a young woman in front of him. He raises some wise observations on life. The title he chose compelled me to read his story. I was not disappointed.
We are a community of collective knowledge and behaviors and we instinctively imitate and evaluate other behaviors.
A wise beginner poet gives others his tips, based on his experience, on writing poems. If you’ve never tried to write a poem, you might like to use Syed Zaidi’s advice. I applaud his bravery.
As I was told by my university poetry tutor, I am a poet. I don’t always believe it myself but writing poems feels good so I keep doing it. Maybe one day I’ll be as good as the top writers in poetry on Medium.
Other publications do have two poems related to his story, but I chose this heartwrenching story, which was submitted to and published on ILLUMINATION.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this week’s selection of new to ILLUMINATION writers’ works of art.
Here are some articles within an article you may find useful when submitting your work to ILLUMINATION.
